About this listing

This is a small room in a two bedroom apartment in the heart of Astoria. I have lived pretty much everywhere in New York, and this, by far, is one of the nicest neighborhoods around. Everything you might need is within walking distance: beautiful bars, restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, grocery shops and so on. The commute is also great. It is a 4 minute walk to the nearest train station (30 min to Times Square). The N/Q line will either take you to a place or get you a convenient transfer.

The neighbourhood

Astoria is one of the nicest and the friendliest neighborhoods in the city. Particularly this part of it. You are steps away from beautiful bars and amazing restaurants. Astoria park is half a mile away (10 min walk or a 5 min run)

Getting around

You are a short 4 min walk from the N/Q trains which run 24/7. Truth be told, the New York subway is a blessing and a curse, no subway line is 100% reliable, but some are better than others. I would say that the N/Q line is up there in the top. It has a very convenient route, with an access to any part of the city. If you want to go to the East side, you can transfer on 59th and Lexington to the green line (4/5/6). If you need to get to the West, you can either go to Times Square and transfer there or get off at 57th and 7th avenue, and walk to the Columbus Circle. Also, the big upside of being at the last stop is that there is always a train and you always get to sit down.

This being my first experience with AirBnb, I'm grateful it was with someone as accommodating and genuine as Diana. A great place to crash for a little R&R and very convenient; only 2 short blocks from the subway and access to local bars and eateries. Will definitely consider booking this room again if I'm ever in need. Thanks for everything Diana; you've set the bar high for future hosts.

This is a great airbnb. It is very close to one of the most well running and well connected train lines. The neighborhood is awesome, it is very safe and has tons of entertainment including bars and restaurants. Diana is a great host. She provides everything needed for your stay. The apartment is very clean. She has lived all over New York and can provide great tips and suggestions from a local point of view. I stayed here for three months while working in the Upper East Side. I had a great experience, and would definitely recommend.

I live in Astoria, Queens. I work as a manager at a restaurant, while getting my second bachelors degree in finance. My days are pretty busy, I either work or study at all times. Trying to keep it busy, I guess. :)
