A little gem - perfect for the Suffolk coast - birdwatching, walking, concert going and many pretty villages and sights. Trains to Norwich, London, Bury, Cambridge for further sightseeing. Access to local gardens, castles and wonderful pubs and restaurants. The PERFECT cosy get away from it all. It IS a home and not a bland rental holiday cottage so there are the owner's things around! Warm welcome - the host is an experienced owner. Stairs are steep and the pavement is narrow so not for the elderly or infirm. The Cottage was home to very young children and guests with toddlers without difficulty please discuss further if you are nervous! To be clear - Family Friendly means I am very happy to accept children and the same applies to Pet Friendly, for well behaved pets!
Use of the entire cottage for a min of preferably 2 nights. The listing says one night but I can only do this if I have enough change over time - it is my home too! Long weekends, weekly lets are welcome but it is not suitable for several months so please do not ask! It is a period cottage - not a sanitised boutique hotel, so please bear that in mind. Pretty designed garden, terrace etc. Small and steep cottage staircase so I repeat in this section that it is not suitable for disabled access. Roll top bath - hand held shower and antique taps (ie not perfect, but people love them). My cleaning ratings have been good but it is a period beamed cottage. Self service with good access to village shops and supermarket - award winning butcher. Good cafes locally - a friendly vibrant village. but no village pub - lots of others locally though, and take away food outlets including and excellent fish and chip shop and a good Co-Op store.
Interaction with guests
I am available locally and will greet you and talk you through everything when you arrive. IF you want to arrive very late I can accommodate this via conversation and you can let yourselves in. I leave basics for you to use tea, coffee, loo , a few starter logs and coal - just light the fire - you can bring more logs or buy them locally. I ra(URL HIDDEN)in London for four years which was highly successful and I do like to help guests with information if I can. This is a lovely cottage - it has it quirks and personality - I always get several 'wows'! Note - it is a cottage size hot tank so huge baths will not work!
Other things to note
There is a large supermarket locally and general stores and restaurants in the village a short walk away. There are cinemas in Aldeburgh, Leiston (we have our own in the village if you come on the third Saturday of the month) and Woodbridge. There are cultural events throughout the county, theatre and concerts in Ipswich, our nearest major shopping centre. Sutton Hoo is close by and the Suffolk Punch Trust. Orford, Southwold and Walberswick are great locations with wonderful pubs and shops. Bird watching is outstanding.
Treat the house as you would treat your own. I leave things for you to enjoy but hope you will treat them with respect and care. Pets are welcome but I prefer not to have them on the beds please. Smoking outside only please. No use of the landline phone but mobile phone signals are generally good. Excellent internet access.

I ran a successful B & B in central London for a number of years so I hope I know what guests like! My cottage will be let as a 'home' and not a (but can accommodate a single guest on that basis in the small room..). hope you will enjoy staying here. I work as a psychotherapist and had a long career in the Arts - mainly music and dance and am passionate about the performing arts. I have one son who works in post production TV who lives in London. I sing in a rock choir and help with our local film initiative - Wickham market Movies for which we won a Lottery Application. I love walking - we are close to the sea here - I also board dogs occasionally so my house is pet friendly. I love travelling and Morocco, Ireland, Holland and Prague are on the agenda for 2016. I do so look forward to meeting you!
