Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
A charming and spacious cottage with direct beach access and sensational views over the Moray Firth. Filled with art and antiques this comfortable and much loved home from home is an ideal base from which to explore Nairn and the surrounding area. Whether you want to soak up the sea views from a deck chair at the backdoor, with a coffee or a glass of wine, dash into the sea for a swim before a relaxing hot bath, or simply stroll along the beach, we hope you will love it here as much as we do.

The space
The comfortable and bright accommodation boasts excellent living space with high ceilings and original features.

A well equipped kitchen/diner has a glazed door with direct access to The Links and Nairn Central Beach and has stunning views over the sea towards The Black Isle. From here it is occasionally possible to catch a glimpse of dolphins, basking sharks, seals and even the odd minke whale. Make sure you have your binoculars at the ready! Nairn is also renowned for being one of the best places in The British Isles from which to spot the aurora borealis.

A spacious, yet cosy double aspect drawing room with wood burning stove features a west facing picture window with views over The Links towards The Moray Firth. From here spectacular sunsets can be admired. Guests can enjoy use of the piano, curl up and read a book by the fire, play one of our board games or tackle one of our jigsaws at the card table.

There are three double bedrooms -one king size, one double and one twin- two with useful wash hand basins and all benefiting from luxurious Egyptian cotton bedding. Two generous bathrooms (one with shower over bath) are well stocked with toiletries from The Scottish Fine Soaps Company .

Set within a walled garden (shared with three other houses), the house enjoys its own courtyard garden space as well as private parking.

As parents ourselves we understand there are certain things you need when traveling with young children. Our house can easily accommodate a baby or young child and we can provide a travel cot, high chair etc if required. Contact us before booking and we will try our best to accommodate your needs.

Neighbourhood highlights

Nairn is well known for its micro climate, with more hours of sunshine and fewer millimetres of rainfall than much of Scotland. The midges also tend to steer clear!

There is so much to do in and around Nairn that visitors will never be bored. There are four beautiful beaches in Nairn. Central Beach is directly outside the house. The stunning, far reaching white sandy East Beach is a short walk away to the east of The Harbour. The West Beach is beyond Nairn Swimming Pool past Nairn Golf Club to Whiteness Beach (The Secret Beach) which stretches all the way to Whiteness Point.

You can walk along the beach in either direction from the house, for several miles. The best place for dolphins is at Whiteness point, five miles to the west along the beach (only at low tide).

If you walk to the right or east and walk around the harbour, over the bridge, you can turn right up the river (five miles to Cawdor where you can have lunch at The Cawdor Tavern) or left back onto The East Beach which is a really beautiful white sandy beach and our favourite walk.

Adjacent to the house are excellent artisan cafes which open in the summer months and there is a good selection of local restaurants. It is always advisable to pre-book.

Also adjacent are excellent leisure facilities including a putting green, a 25 metre swimming pool and a gym. Within walking distance are the extremely highly regarded Nairn Golf Club and Nairn Dunbar Golf Club. On the doorstep water sports are available including paddle boarding and kayaking etc.

Nairn has a high street with good local shops, including a butcher, fruit and veg shop, health food shop, independent bookshop, pharmacies and hardware store. There are a couple of supermarkets (Co-Op) and big Sainsbury just outside Nairn on the A96 towards Forres and Aberdeen.

Cawdor Castle is a favourite of ours although the season is short. Brodie Castle is also lovely and has a wonderful collection of daffodils in the spring. Findhorn is also worth a visit as are some of the coastal towns further east if you are feeling more adventurous.

Inverness is a town of about 80,000, beautifully situated at the mouth of the River Ness. If you want to go bit further then you may like Loch Ness or Culloden Battle Field. Beauly is a nice town with very good shops.
