This rad family owned and operated B&B is nestled in a forested rural area located in Boat Harbour/Yellow Point, 20min drive south of Nanaimo. Walking distance to a provincial park, lake and ocean. This is a cozy studio space with a futon double bed size, dinning table, private deck with outdoor seating and table. There is a mini fridge and ample shelving. The private bathroom is located in the main cabin 4 meters walking distance to the main cabin. Child and animal friendly people welcome.

The space

Do to noise from our Child and anilamls we have relocated the space (June 2017) to a studio separate from the main cabin making it private and quiet. This space is a quaint and cozy studio located on the backside of the main cabin. There is a fire pit for use (provided that fires are not prohibited) and picnic table. There is a beautiful restored antique soaker tub, Epsom salts and handcrafted organic soap for your pleasure. Please note that the bathroom is located in the main cabin and you have to leave the studio and walk 4 meters to use it. Also the futon in the studio, well its a new and if you are over 6ft it might not be the best one you have ever slept on, sorry. However, we can also provide an extra foam mattress if you let us know you need one. There is a picnic table for use as well. We are located in the mid-line of the island, so it makes it an ideal place if you are day tripping around everywhere. It is a 10 min walk to Hemer Provincial Park and 15 min walk Boat Harbour Bay. The studio suitable for two people who love the outdoors and great experiences. If you have baby/ toddler we have a playpen available for use. There is a toddler and animals at this location, so a person visiting must like both. Breakfast is served at 8:45am, if this is not a suitable time we will try to make different arrangements to accommodate you.

Interaction with guests

We would be more than happy to share our knowledge and recommendations of local attractions, restaurants/pubs, outdoor activities, and anything you might be interested in. We have bikes that are ready to use.

Other things to note

If you are bringing a pet you must be a responsible owner. We are a small family with a sweet two year-old and pets. We do charge a pet fee of $20. This is due to some of the the wreckage and mess that happens when doggies stay. Obviously they don't mean to but we need to be able to cover the costs of cleaning and other property that may and has been damaged.

Ryan and Jacqueline are great hosts! They are patient (we got stuck in traffic on the Malahat!) and welcoming with some great suggestions for dining and hiking in the area. Their little one Sophie is adorable - curious and sweet. The suite is so comfortable - the bed is covered in soft pillows and blankets, it is decorated with antiques and fresh flowers!! Also so nice were the bottles of water :). The bathroom - wow. It is absolutely amazing, with lots of hot water. We are only sad to have just one night here! Thanks Jacqueline and Ryan and Sophie! Hope to see you again!

I visited with my friend and we had the loveliest time! Ryan and Jackie were so welcoming and kind; they helped us and made us feel very comfortable. They are wonderful people, with a very stylish, relaxed home. The location is beautiful, in a secluded spot in the woods with beautiful scenery. We would both definitely recommend and will stay here again if we ever travel back this way! Thank you both for having us! x

Well this is an airbnb which makes me sad to rate because that means that the time there is over :( it was beyond amazing to stay at your place and we both feel so lucky that we could spend some time with you and your gorgeous little family even tough it was way to short! You care so much about the well-being of your guests even when they stress you a bit :D spending time with you at your home felt like spending time with some old friends and we truly hope that we will meet again either at your place or in Germany :) Well apart from that the cabin was truly beautiful and cozy and the bathroom is just gorgeous with the tub and the design of everything including the soap and the scrub in it! It was so great to wake up to a wonderful breakfast and to chat with you all in the morning! And of course we're both gonna miss the dogs and the cat so so much! It was way to easy to fall in love with them :D Thank you so much for everything, we are beyond grateful that we had the opportunity to stay at your home!

Our stay at Jacqueline's place was perfect in every way. She gave us great suggestions for local places to go (highly recommend the Crow & Gate!) and made a phenomenal breakfast in the morning. The cabin was quaint and cozy, perfect for the type of getaway we were looking for. Jacqueline's daughter and dogs were also a great source of entertainment. We would definitely stay at hers again.
