Charming and cosy, Braeside is a comfortable, well-appointed house that is located in a very quiet, safe street. From here it is an easy 15-20 min walk (or 5 min drive) to either the CBD, Salamanca Cove, Casino or University. Even though, it is inner suburban, it has a rustic outlook with the nearby Hobart Rivulet and mountain views.
Our space is an entire, 2-bedroom house located on its own block in a quiet dead-end street of 9 houses with friendly neighbours. The property adjoins a large vacant field to give a rustic feel to the place with great views of the nearby Mount Wellington which is only a 20 minute drive away, weather permitting. (It can be sometimes covered with snow in our cooler months!)
The house has been very recently renovated with a brand new kitchen and modernised bathroom. There is is a dual-mode heater that can ward off the chill of a Tasmanian winter but can also serve as an air-conditioner to cope with our occasional heat-waves!
The floors are done in beautifully polished Tasmanian oak to give the house a clean, fresh and comfortable ambience.
The house has a large main bedroom with a queen side bed and a smaller bedroom with twin single beds.
Also provided are a TV, DVD player, CD Player/Radio device. There is also a fast NBN-based wireless internet service that is freely available to guests.
Guests have full access to the entire house and its amenities as well as access to a paved barbeque and outdoor dining area in the backyard. There is also a single-car garage available for guests as well as free on-street parking for another car.
Interaction with guests
Your hosts live close-by and will be on hand to personally meet our arrivals and they will be further available to help with any requests.
Other things to note
There are a number of very good restaurants close by in Macquarie St across the Hobart Rivulet which can be reached with a 5-10 minute stroll or a 2 minute drive. (There is a bit of up and down involved when crossing the rivulet via the bridge which is situated at the bottom of Cosgrove Avenue.
There are a couple of very good bottleshops (liquor stores) close by in Davey St. (2 minute drive away.)
No smoking and no pets. Please be respectful of our other friendly neighbours who reside in this small, quiet inner suburban street.
