It's a great place to live. You will feel like in your home when you live in this house. Very great couple. Carole and her husband shared a lot to us. This house is really clean and cozy.

We really enjoyed our stay with Bob & Carole. The room was cozy and clean and about the size of a typical guest bedroom. It is on the entry level floor, so no major steps other than one or two at the entrance. The bathroom is a few steps down the hall and may potentially be shared unless there are other house guests on the main floor. Bob & Carole have a basement apartment for those needing more room. It had multiple size beds and bathroom as well as a mini-kitchen. Carole loaned us bikes to ride (it has been a while). Be aware that some hills are a bit steep in the institute so control speed going down and be prepared to walk the bike back up unless you are a hill biker. Carole had a breakfast for us that varied during our stay. Indicate in advance if any special dietary restrictions or allergies. The home is inside the Chautauqua Institute gates. We were there offseason so there was no charge to drive in. I forgot to ask if a pass was needed during high season (summer time) to get to their house. Parking was either in their driveway or in front of the house. GPS helps at night as the road winds around a bit at night once inside the gate. We had many wonderful discussions about the Institute, locale highlights and history. Bob and Carole were delightful hosts and really enjoyed the company. We really felt like extended family by the time we left and will absolutely be back . They indicated they are there year round. It was truly wonderful to wake up in the Institute, have wonderful morning conversations and to be able to go for a walk in the peaceful setting at the Institute. If delayed or arriving late (after 9:30pm or so, be sure to text or call Carole to make sure you have check in details, information about going through the Institute security gates and/or external parking (there is a lot across from the institute). If you have never been to the Institute and are not sure what it is, it would be like an old-world (beautiful) college campus (minus the rowdy college students). (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) the name for more details on the schedules of events or ask Carole for information.

Bob and Carol treated me more like an old friend rather than a renter.

If you're looking for a charming house in Chautauqua, this is the place. The hospitality of Carole & Bob was exceptional. She gave us recommendations for activities to do around town. They let us borrow their bicycles to ride around the lakeside in the morning. The downstairs apartment was spacious & clean. Each morning Carole & Bob made us an awesome breakfast. Listening to their stories & sharing breakfast with them was very heartwarming. We will be celebrating our one year anniversary soon & can only hope to be like them one day.

Bob and Carole welcomed us into their home like family. We truly feel we are friends now. Their beautiful comfortable home was relaxing and a welcome change to our busy lives. They stayed up late to make sure we found the house, made us a full breakfast and even invited us to their dinner table. I would not expect other meals if you visit, but it was an extra offer that reflects their kind natures. Bob is wonderful at telling the history of the Chatauqua Institute and the surrounding area. They upgraded our room from a double room to a full apartment because "they don't rent it out, but no one was using it." Had we stayed an extra day, we would have gotten a guided tour by Bob, a bike ride using their bikes, and we would have joined them for dinner out and a show! I didn't see any other Air B&B's inside the gates, and the cost of most other accommodations near there would have prohibited our visit. I you are in the mood to relax with new friends, stay with Bob & Carole. It was our first-time staying at an Air B&B and it may have spoiled us!

Bob and Carole's place is great and the Chautauqua Institution is full of history. We rented a room but Carole let us have her downstairs apartment because it was available, and it was very nice. Carole and Bob were communicative, helpful, and very enthusiastic about the Institution.
