We were in town attending a conference at the Marriott and the University of Arizona. This house was perfect for our needs. It was a short walk to both locations. I felt quite safe in the area, walking to and from the house. The neighborhood was quiet. The owners were quick to respond if we had any needs. I would be happy to stay here again if I were ever in the area.

We appreciated the quiet location and the easy access to downtown, University and 4th Ave venues without the traffic that seems to plague Tucson. Laurel was very accommodating. The furnishings are sparse but comfortable, the tub/shower funky but usable. We would stay in Laurel's guest house again.

Choosing a place to stay, sight unseen, is always a gamble. Photos hide a lot of sins. Happily, this was not the case with Laurel's 4th Avenue Guest House. Quite the contrary, Laurel's place is even nicer and the spaces bigger than they appear in the airbnb photos. The moment my husband and I entered this serene environment, filled with light, we knew we'd hit the jackpot. Laurel's welcome couldn't have been warmer, more hospitable, nor more sincere. Her place is extremely well organized and she provides guests with everything they need to know both about the guest house and about things of interest in her neighborhood and inTucson, in general. The place is pristine and very easy to maintain in that condition. Wonderful deep bath, with shower, and delicious, generous, fluffy white towels, worthy of a 5-star hotel. Laurel has a refined sense of aesthetics, and we found the decor very pleasing to the eye. The kitchen was more than adequate for an extended stay. Bed very comfortable. Neighbourhood quiet. Easy parking right in front of the house. This bears mentioning because parking in Tucson, with its arcane rules, can be quite problematic. For whatever reason--El Nino?--it happened to be unusually cold during a part of our visit. We asked Laurel if she had an area heater, as the heat from the overhead heater was not making it down to the floor, which was quite chilly. She didn't, but she went out and got one for us. I mention that to indicate the level of care and attention she shows her guests and her readiness to ensure that you have everything you need. She was always quick to respond to any query or request I had. Sadly, we had to cut our stay short, but even in this matter, Laurel was most gracious and so refreshingly not rapacious, accommodating our rather late change of plan as best she could. Our experience with her and with her guest house was the airbnb concept at its best. I'd happily recommend her place to anyone looking for independent lodging in Tucson, and my husband and I would happily book with Laurel again, should we ever visit Tucson again.

This was our first time using airbnb and it couldn't have been a better experience. The guest house was perfect. Incredibly charming and perfectly private. It had everything we needed and more. The hosts were wonderful as well! We have family in Tucson and will absolutely be back. This will be our go to place to stay.

The 4th Avenue Guest House is run by myself and my husband. We live in a separate house on the same property, along with our two daughters. We hope to help you have a comfortable, relaxing stay while also providing you with a private retreat.
