The space
Herring’s recent renovation strikes a balance between playful and thoughtfully planned, decked out with opulent furnishings from the likes of Jardan, Ferm and the Jam Factory, making Herring's House a haven for lovers of finely curated interiors. You can thank the clever folks at revered design studio Fabrikate for that!
Polished timber floors and large whimsical windows give your stay a bright, airy and inviting vibe, while the raw, edgy kitchen serves up a feast for the eyes.
Want a holiday with more elbow room? No worries! With multiple living zones, well-sized bedrooms and a secret loft, Herring's House offers an adaptable floorplan to comfortably accommodate your family and friends.
Downstairs we have a super king room, queen room, a ceremony and yoga room where the magic happens, and a small single room (which becomes our massage room for retreats). Upstairs in the 'secret loft' we have 3 king singles. All up, Herring's House comfortably hosts 8 guests.
If you've got a green thumb or simply appreciate the beauty of a thriving garden, you'll love the flourishing veggie patches and lush outdoor spaces. Not just a pretty face, the property also features a magnesium pool, sprawling gardens, hidden nooks and crannies, and beautiful gully views. It's the kind of place that makes you forget about your phone, your emails, your deadlines...
While our gorgeous pool is not heated, we enjoy it for cold therapy in the winter months, opting instead to soak in the tub on the deck or enjoy the outdoor shower (both have hot water). In summer, of course, the pool is exceptional and will entertain the whole family for days on end.
Herring's House places you just a 10-minute drive from the unspoiled beauty of Port Willunga’s surf beach and a stone's throw from Willunga township, where quaint brunch spots start the day just right and the renowned Russell’s Pizza slings its piping hot works of art well into a Saturday night. The perfect end to a day of winery hopping through McLaren Vale.
