The 1BD is a newly remodeled loft-level (attic) unit. Comes with free washer and dryer, dishwasher, and free street parking. Great for professionals, grad students, and visitors.
Note: This unit is my home and I normally live in this unit. I make it available on days when I am traveling. Please excuse any personal items and quirks of the place. Please respect my belongings. :)
Keep in mind that this is a typical building in Cambridge, that is a bit old and therefore has the wear and tear of an older home ie. loose door handles, scratches on floor and/or walls, perhaps stains on wooden floors, etc. It is very cozy and a lovely apartment, but again it just has an older feel so if you are looking for something modern or spotless, you may want to look elsewhere. Just want to be completely honest and thank you for your interest in my listing!
NEIGHBORHOOD: * Quiet high-end safe neighborhood down the street from where the Internet was invented. Across the street from golf course and beautiful Fresh Pond running trail. There's also a close-by tennis court, basketball court, and children's park. * Steps from bus to Harvard Square (10-15 mins). From there, you can hop on the RED line train to downtown Boston (additional 15 mins), or drive there in 25 mins. * Short walk to convenience store and WOW gym; Short drive to Fresh Pond Mall for Trader Joe's, Starbucks, LOEWS theaters, etc. * 30 min drive from Boston Logan airport. * Neighbors include Harvard faculty, and young professionals in bio-tech, finance, and IT.
I have new toothbrushes, hygiene stuff, and cleaning supplies in the bathroom drawers / medicine cabinet / under the sink. You are free to use.
Futon: Be careful when using it as a pullout bed. Be sure to pull out the legs from the back, so it is sturdy when laid out. Like most futons, it has a slant or hump along the middle, so might be a bit uncomfortable when sleeping.
Fire Extinguisher: On the floor next to the microwave.
Fire Escape: There is a light fire escape ladder you can throw over
the window in case of a fire, you would need to hook it against the window.
Other things to note
There are a few items I need to disclose, though it shouldn't impact your stay so long as you're OK with it:
- I installed 2 window ACs because the living room AC stopped giving cool air. But with the extra ACs and fans (the living room AC also gives off fan air), the place can get cool, though the middle area takes fairly long to cool down.
- The dresser is for my use only.
Thanks for understanding!
Please don't forget, no smoking on the premises. Also you are in a multi-family home so please just be mindful of being very loud after hours.
