If you are seeking an authentic Montana getaway, look no further. Located 30 minutes outside of Missoula, this one-of-a-kind mountain top cabin features picturesque views and gives guests the true Montana experience.

The space

Single handedly built by the owner, this cabin is unique in every way. The space is studio style (open) with a living room space, very cozy dining table and chairs, queen bed and full kitchen.

Guest access

The entire cabin is yours for the weekend! The owners live more than a mile up the road, giving you complete privacy.

Interaction with guests

This Cabin is 22' by 18' with an adjacent shower/bath house and out house. Propane oven and fridge and lights run off 12 volt, but is also wired for 110, if one actually wanted to run a generator. The owner is always around to assist if you need anything. Upon checking in, we'll help you set up. There are some things that you'll need to be shown like how to operate the lights, water, and wood stove.

Other things to note

Keep in mind this is meant for a get-away.. as in get away from the real world and in tune with nature (The stars are incredible every night especially in the winter.) This cabin is definitely not for someone who is looking for a plush hotel-style

This cabin is simply stellar. One of the finest experiences I've had. If you're looking to put an ear to the heartbeat of the natural world you'd be hard-pressed to find a better location. Host is very cool too.

I had a great time staying in Daniel's cabin. The cabin is off-grid and rustic, but still has everything to provide a comfortable stay. There is a propane stove w/ oven, plus refrigerator. 12v power runs lighting at night, and a generator is available for other power needs. There is no running water, but Daniel provides plenty of spring water for drinking and washwater is available from a cistern right outside the cabin. The cabin itself is spacious and well-built, and has an incredible view. Daniel gave me some pointers on cool spots in the area and I enjoyed exploring the surrounding land—checking out old mining ruins, tracking elk, wandering the endless roads and game trails. The sunsets were amazing every night (including the distant electrical storm on my last night). Daniel gave me a rundown of how everything works and then stayed out of my hair for the rest of my stay—but was always available on the adjacent property if I needed anything. All communication was always accommodating and personable. Thanks to Emily for being the web liaison for the reservation process.

This place is magical!! Emily offers responsive communications, accurate description, and impeccable driving directions. Daniel, our on-site host, is a delight to talk to and clearly explained the workings of all the cabin's equipment for our off-grid adventure. The cabin is rustic, but very clean and comfortable and no photograph can truly convey the beauty of the views. Daniel also gave us great directions for some hiking both on the property and down the county road to the ruins of an old mining town. We only stayed for one night, as we were road tripping across the country, but this was a most amazing respite from the road, punctuated by numerous "wows" at the views.

Emily was a great contact person and facilitated our communication with the owner of the cabin, Daniel, who is not internet savvy. Daniel was a fantastic host and responded very promptly to text messages. He met my husband and I along the road so we knew exactly how to navigate to the cabin. He gave us a detailed tour and instructions for how to use the amenities in this very rustic, off-the-grid home. The scenery can't be beat. We would definitely stay here again!

We've got nothing negative to say about our experience here. Our host was wonderful to us, even offering to pull us around if we got stuck in the snow. He made sure we had what we needed, and made us feel welcome in what we feel is a very special place. If some off-the-grid time is what you're looking for, this place will suit you just fine.
