Excellent!! Lia has don't a great job of making you feel welcome and comfortable. While the bed was a bit too soft me (I like my beds penitentiary style -- rock hard) and the room a bit too large for me (I am accustomed to the cramped living quarters of NYC), I have no reservations about recommending this place. Especially if you are into rolling hills, wide open vistas and amazing walks by the river. The Hudson in these parts is drop dead beautiful. Be sure to bring your kayak.

I moved here from Brooklyn in 2015 after buying a set of 1850s brick storefront buildings located in the historic river town of Coxsackie, NY. I have been renovating ever since (haha). The guestrooms were added by the previous owner, so after some minor repairs and refreshing, I have 4 lovely guestrooms waiting to host your visit to the upstate! Also in the works, a General Store and coffee counter located in the bottom storefront space of 45 Reed. Mansion + Reed General Store coming Fall 2016. Stay tuned. There is currently nowhere in town to get a cup of coffee, milk, eggs, or a scented candle. Fixing that!

More about Coxsackie: Coxsackie was once home to brick foundries and ice houses (harvesting ice from the Hudson River to ship to NYC). If you take a walk in the riverside park, you will find lots of weathered bricks and some flint rock that the area is known for. The town has not quite hit its stride after the past decades' downturns. You will still see some boarded up windows along with lovingly restored houses and buildings. But as has happened on the East side of the river in Hudson, NY, people are starting to appreciate the historic character and close connection to nature that the Hudson Valley offers. Come and visit us, discover this charming village, and explore the beauty of the river, the nearby Catskill mountains, and other nearby Hudson river towns.
