The space

Campbell is one of our small cottages with a double and single bedroom, ideal for a couple or two friends. There is an all-in-one kitchen, dining area and sitting area with TV. The setting is the rolling hills of Kintyre, with the sea just a couple of miles away, and visible from above the cottages. Feels right away from it all, with wildlife, islands to visit and enough beaches to have your own! Golfers, walkers, surfers, or simply those who want to be away from the bright lights of the city will love it.

Guest access

Laundry facility available for small charge.
Mobile reception poor in a lot of Kintyre!

Interaction with guests

We have an on-site caretaker who keeps in the background but is around if you need to ask anything.

Other things to note

From Campbeltown head up Witchburn Road and turn left at Stewarton on the Southend Road. A mile along, turn left at Knocknaha (just after phone box). Follow road round past castle gates, farmhouse. Bear left and through field gate. Campbell cottage is the one at the far left hand end of the white buildings ahead of you (name plaque on door of cottage). Park in car park.

Janet's cottage was a perfect countryside break to get away from London! The cottage has all the basic amenities and is situated in a very scenic part of the country. Campbeltown is on your doorstep (a car is necessary) and the tourist information is very good at pointing out things to do! The kintyre peninsular is beautiful and I would recommend this trip for anyone looking for a change in pace!

Lovely stay at Janet's. Very clean and tidy with lovely views and walks. Easy walk to Campbeltown takes around 30 minutes or so. Could do with wifi as there is limited to no telephone signal.

Response from Janet:
Glad you had a good stay and made the most of the area. We are considering wifi - complicated because of thick stone walls - though some have asked us not to get it, as they like a wifi free zone!

Great setting if you want somewhere basic and out of the way, which is exactly what we were after! Great value for a 4 night stay too. Can't fault it.

Very disappointed with my stay, shower was an issue that didn't get resolved during my four week stay. Wish I'd done my research a little better before booking because these issues have been flagged multiple times on other booking sites. Caretakers on the other hand were lovely and did their best to help me out.

Response from Janet:
We too were disappointed that Fiona had issues with the shower, it was working previously. To be factual, as soon as we knew of the problem we ordered the parts and found a plumber as soon as available, but knowing the time these things take, we offered an alternative cottage. She chose to stay put as she wanted to have visitors (ok with us) so that was her choice. New parts fitted yesterday.

We try to answer all queries in a few hours. I don't live at the cottages in Scotland, but visit regularly to see to things at the cottages and because I love Kintyre!
