About this listing

Un Palafito es una vivienda tipica de la Isla de Chiloe, declarada como monumento historico, construida en madera nativa sobre pilotes en el agua, a orillas del rio Gamboa. Lugar centrico, totalmente equipada. Vive la experiencia!!! Lugar soñado...

The space

Other things to note

Lugar tranquilo y seguro.

We had a lovely stay at Anny's place. The place was just as described. Anny's mother greeted us and was very helpful during our stay. They helped us keep the fire roaring and lent us a wine opener that as described by Anny's mother had been passed down since her grandmother (it worked perfectly!). The place is walking distance to a little shop where you can buy bread and other things. There are coffee shops and restaurants nearby. All in all a nice experience!

The place is as described and is in a great location - close access to all things needed. I really enjoyed the experience overall and also want to state that the communication is wonderful and Anny's mother is really sweet and very helpful when/or if needed - she offered dinner one evening and gave a hug and small gift when I left - very wonderful people/family!

Anny's palafito is located in a beautiful neighborhood in Castro, on the same street as a few cafés and small shops and down the hill from the main section of Castro. The apartment is furnished simply and has low ceilings - my 6' husband had to duck to get through doorways and in the kitchen, but had everything we needed to enjoy our vacation with our two young children.

Very spacious; three beds on two levels, full kitchen and large bathroom. The palofito was very romantic with the changing of the tides at night and the waves lapping against the pilings. The family was very helpful and available when we had questions. They even presented us with a token souvenir when we left. Very kind.

Anny's apartment is spacious and basic. We appreciated the use of a clothes washer. Anny's mother welcoming was great. She gave us champagne and salmon to celebrate the new year. Thank you! The view on the bay from the apartment is beautiful. The location is excellent, especially with a car. It is easy to explore the islands with beautiful churches from Castro.

Anny's place is located in an awesome part of town and looks exactly like in the listing. The space was very clean and comfortable. The street where this Palafito is located has great restaurants and cafes.

Anny arranged for her parents to show us the palafito and they were very welcoming and although we didn't share a language, they explained where things were etc. The palafito had a nice view over the water and we could sit at the kitchen table and watch the birds. The place was clean and well provided with stuff you need when traveling such as a washing machine! An easy walk into the town centre and some cafes in the street. Two doors up is the Mar & Canela which had great food and ambience. The rooms in the palafito were small with low ceilings so tall people would have problems. There was noise from the street in the upstairs bedroom and from the neighbours in the downstairs one as the walls are thin but we are light sleepers so this may not bother others. It was a unique experience to stay in a palafito in Castro and I would recommend Anny's place to people seeking a different experience on their travels.
