A small, cosy cottage in a quiet rural location, with great views and its own stream, Les Bruyeres is ideal for couples or families with children. It's in Brittany, but close to the boundary with Normandy and Pays de Loire.

Our listing on Airbnb is new in 2017. You'll find more reviews on Trip Advisor - search 'Les Bruyeres Fougeres'.

The space

Families with young children will love Les Bruyeres - there's plenty of open space, lots to explore and a good chance of seeing wildlife such as red squirrels, deer, foxes and buzzards. The location is very quiet and rural, with only a few cars and farm vehicles passing in the course of a day. It's perfect for eating outdoors, but there's plenty to do inside as well - books, games, DVDs and lots of music. Les Bruyeres can sleep 6 if needed, but is best suited to 2-4 people, as the downstairs bathroom and spare bedroom are very small. Please also note that the upper rooms are accessed by a narrow spiral staircase, and large items of luggage may not go upstairs easily!

Guest access

You will have full use of the house, garden, driveway and water meadow (the stream is our boundary with the next property). The rear field belongs to the house and is sometimes grazed by a neighbour's cows. Pets are welcome, but please note that the grounds are not fully enclosed.

Interaction with guests

A booklet of instructions, information and recommendations for places to go and things to do is kept in the house. You can contact us by phone, text or e-mail if you need assistance.

Other things to note

Our usual changeover day is Saturday, but if you would like to arrive on another day, just ask and we will try to accommodate you.

Very well equipped house (linen, towels, toys) in rural surrounding. Good position for trips to Mount St Michel, the beaches, Rennes or Fouchère. Perfect for families with children that are seeking quietness and a place where the children have enough space outdoors.

Thank you, we're so glad you enjoyed your stay. The toys were favourites with our children and it's great that they are still giving pleasure!

Hello, We want to thank you and your husband one more time for our great stay at the cosy cottage. The house had everything we needed and it was very clean when we arrived! The little present with the letter made us feel welcome so we could start our holiday with a fully relaxed vibe :). The garden was very big and nice for our dogs. We enjoyed the rest in the environment and also the cows grazing behind the fence... Pure nature! We also want to say that we liked the clear way of communication: before - during (the brochure) and also after our stay! We did the thinking exercise to say what could be better, but we really can't find anything. So we want to thank you that we could stay in your house for our holiday and we hope to be able for coming back. In the near or further future...! Greetings, Hans

My husband Eric and I have recently retired. Les Bruyeres was our much-loved holiday home from 1989 onwards. In the last few years we have made a number of improvements (wood-burning stove, breakfast bar, new bathroom etc) and started letting it as a gite in the spring, summer …
