This large (2000 sq ft) apartment is part of one of Stowe’s premier private homes, set on a 150 acre estate in the heart of Stowe’s cross country and mountain biking trail system. Approximately 1.25 miles to the Trapp Family Lodge Cross Country Center, You can ski/snowshoe/bike/hike in or out while being in one of the most beautiful and secluded areas in Stowe. The property is surrounded by over 2,000 acres of conservation land. While intensely private, the property is also situated to provide quick access to everything Stowe has to offer.
This bright and airy apartment features its own private entrance and parking area and is perfect for any guests looking for lots of space to spread out comfortably. Spectacular for an individual or couple, the apartment can also easily sleep and accommodate a family of up to 7.
The massive living area includes a sectional sofa and two queen size futons/couches, among other seating. A large, flat screen Sony TV with DVD player and DirecTV (including the largest channel package available) can be watched from any of the seating areas. A work area with large, flat-screen monitor, printer, and keyboard/mouse is available should you wish to attach your laptop. If you don’t want to bring one, we can arrange for a loaner during your stay. There is an occasional table and chairs for playing board games.
The bedroom is furnished with a king bed with premium linens, sitting area including couch and loveseat, a leather ottoman that opens to twin size bed, TV/DVD/Satellite and a desk/work area. The spectacular, southeast views from the bedroom include the large, heated, stone swimming pool and hot tub, two ponds, the grounds of the estate, and the mountains beyond.
The bathroom is travertine marble with a large, frameless glass, multi-headed shower with luxury fixtures and a separate Jacuzzi tub. Bathroom features include large fog-free mirror, elegant shutters, radiant heat under all surfaces, and a European-style towel warmer.
Stowe has approximately 50 restaurants for you to enjoy, but if you prefer, stay in and cook your own meals in the fully equipped kitchen with all new stainless steel appliances, fine wood cabinets, and granite counter tops. There is a counter with stools for casual eating, and the dining area comfortably seats 8. The kitchen is properly equipped and stocked with basic supplies, such as spices. If you need any other cookware or supplies during your stay, let us know in advance and we can make sure everything is waiting when you arrive (extra charges may apply).
While Stowe has countless activities, we have provided a DVD library, books, puzzles and games for your enjoyment should you prefer to stay in and relax. In addition to the DVD’s provided in the apartment we have a collection of approximately 2000 titles. We can email you a listing, and make sure the titles you want are waiting for you in the apartment.
During the late spring, summer, and early fall, non-exclusive use of the pool, hot tub and ponds are included. The hot tub is big enough for 10 people, and the heated pool (heated memorial day through labor day) is 45 feet long. The two ponds are connected by a dramatic, 15-foot waterfall. The larger of the two is over ½ acre, and has an excellent floating dock system to provide access for swimmers. This pond features several small water craft, including a canoe, 2 kayaks, and a 4-person paddleboat for your enjoyment.
Each room has easy-to-use, individual temperature controls (including radiant heat in the floors as well as forced-air heating and air conditioning), and one-touch electronically-controlled lighting and electronically controlled window shades for screening and privacy.
The ceilings are 10’ high throughout.
Ultra-high-speed Internet (15GB+) is available (both wired and wireless) managed by commercial CISCO distribution system.
Telephones are provided with unlimited North American calling capability, at no extra cost.
All power is protected by an instant-on generator.
Upon request, at no additional fee, we can provide a full size crib and changing table, WII game system, and child’s table and chairs for visiting children who want their own special area. Please let us know if there is anything else you need, and we will try to arrange it for you.

Stowe offers the largest cross-country ski trail systems in the Eastern United States, and the estate borders two of the groomed resort systems (Trapp Family Lodge and Topnotch Resort), with connecting trails to other systems as well.
There are three world-class golf courses within 15 minutes of the estate.
The world-famous Stowe Mountain Resort is only 10-15 minutes away. It is, truly, the ski capital of the east - especially after the $350+ million investment in equipment and facilities over the past few years. There is nothing else like it in the Eastern United States.
There are several spa facilities in Stowe, including the world-class Topnotch Resort and Spa and the Stoweflake Resort and Spa.
Tennis courts are available at any time of year, including the world class tennis facilities of Topnotch Resort (ranked among the world’s best Tennis Resorts).
The apartment is attached to the main house but has its own private entrance and parking area. Guests are welcome to use the grounds, pool and ponds, but we may be around and enjoying the facilities as well.
Interaction with guests
We are happy to help with local area suggestions and recommendations.
-No renters under the age of 25 shall reside in the apartment unless such guest is related as a child or sibling of a renter who is 25+.
-We do not rent to parties of 4 or more unrelated (non-family) renters.
- Use of any recreational facilities is at Renter's risk and children under the age of 12 must be supervised when using the pool, ponds, boats or hot tub.
-We love dogs but ask that you only bring your well socialized and behaved dog if you are confident that they will not cause damage. Please also be respectful and pick up after your dog.
-Upon departure please leave dishes washed or clean in dishwasher and all garbage and recycling in appropriate containers, and all games, dvds and other items the way you found them upon check-in.
- The pool/ponds and grounds are shared with our family, as we live on the property in the adjoining house.
