The bedroom was exactly like the photos- clean, bright, and roomy! Yummy HOT Turkish tea available anytime - we loved it so much we bought tea glasses home.
Yusuf was very accommodating by offering us a snack when we returned at the end of the day or if we missed breakfast.
Speaking of breakfast, he provides a traditional breakfast with tea or Turkish coffee. We enjoyed the service and the food. Loved the cheese!
His guesthouse is very close to a great pedestrian street that has an abundance of cafes/restaurants. We had a great ($$) seafood dinner with live music (a celebratory atmosphere) with out wandering far from 'home'.
He is a quick ten minute walk to Sultanamet square and a traditional covered market.
On the way, you will pass some great places to buy Turkish delight, cafes, and stores. We appreciated the non-touristy location.
Yusuf's house is also a cafe. There was a steady clientele of locals, in the lobby and out front, enjoying tea/coffee/food, and the popular 'hookah' pipe.
We thought about partaking but, ran out of time.
We had to catch a 3:00 a.m. taxi and he called to arrange that which we really appreciated. His father was there to help with our bags and make sure we got off okay.
We appreciate how Yusuf was concerned and attentive, during our entire stay (5 days). He cared about whether we had were comfortable and/or having a good time.
Thank you, Yusuf for making our trip easy and for being a wonderful host.
