This stay was the best. Couldn't have asked for a better host. Check in was seamless and quick. John was very quick answering any questions I needed. The bed was comfortable and I felt like I was home away from home. The best host I've had on Airbnb.

John helped us a lot when we tried to find a street parking at late night. He replied to any messages promptly. John's house is a quiet place. We'd like to stay there again next time.

Renovating still in progress. One shared small bathroom in lower level. 2nd floor bathroom under renovations. John was very nice and accommodating (even saving me a parking space lol). Clean and comfortable. I was uncomfortable not being able to lock our private room- evidentially it is a NYC law. All in all we will return next time we are in Brooklyn.

Response from John:
Thank you for taking the time to review us, Jeanne! Since this was Jeanne's first time on airbnb, I think expectations were similar to a hotel, instead of a shared townhome. Although, keyed locks are not permitted in private home in NYC, you can still lock the door from the inside. And although we are continually upgrading our property to better serve our guests, no active renovations are done when a guest is present in the home. Jeanne is always welcome back.

John was a very attentive and caring host, and the house was a wonderful space to stay in. I stayed there for a whole month and never saw a single pest or insect. Not even a spider! It was spacious, clean and conveniently close to the subway. The way John handles check-in and the speed with which he responds to messages is also top notch. He has easily earned his Super Host title and I would recommend this place to anyone looking to visit the city.

Pros:We reserved his place just 3 hrs before and he still accepted us! He is so nice same as the room we stayed. The room is clean. The area is safe. The Metro station is nearby. Cons:The only bad part we found is it takes 40 mins by the train from the house to time square. But if you wants to travel around Brooklyn, it is a great place to stay!

Educated professional living in Brooklyn. I love meeting new people, running, hiking, fine foods, traveling, etc. One of my favorite trips was spending New Year's Eve in London on the Thames River. Big Ben, spectacular fireworks and light show; and fun times with a good crowd …
