I've got a furnished spare bedroom that is yours for as long as you like! Double bed, twin (single) air mattress, & couch are all available for use, plus a full kitchen and living room...and chocolates on your pillows. Note: my dog and I live here full time!

The space

Lofted bed leaves plenty of room beneath for a twin air mattress (available). The couch is also available for any extra guests you may have. Sheets, towels, pillows, etc. are included, as well as a hair dryer/straightener, shampoo and soap if you forget yours, iron and ironing board, etc. Also for your use is a piano and recording equipment if you'd like. My stuff is your stuff - as long as you leave it behind when you go!

Guest access

The bedroom, bathroom, full kitchen, and living room are all yours! Yes, I'll be living there but I'll stay out of your way. Help yourself to any cooking supplies you need (baking ingredients, spices, eggs...alcohol), or simply make a cup of tea in the mornings.

Interaction with guests

I'll be there to help you with restaurant suggestions, directions, local hangouts, or just to explain why New Yorkers do the things they do!

Other things to note

You'll be staying alongside my 9.5 pound shorkie (yorkie + shih tzu). He's hypoallergenic and doesn't shed, so pet allergies are still welcome!

Hayley's place is in a great location and Hayley is lovely, you can't go wrong with this one. Probably wouldn't recommend more than two people staying in the room though, as the pair of us struggled a bit fitting our luggage in. There's a 24 hour bagel place opposite, a great bar across the road, and it's 1km from a Wholefoods (the most amazing supermarket you'll see in your life)/Bedford Avenue, which is a great strip with cafes, restaurants, retail shops, and Joe's Pizza (I am still drooling for Joe's Pizza). It's also maybe a 10min subway ride to Manhattan, or a long walk (5-8kms if I recall correctly) across the bridge. Williamsburg/Brooklyn itself is wonderful too. The apartment building/area is pretty quiet at night. The shower is a bit small - wouldn't recommend for my father for example, who is 6ft and a bit wider than I! And the hot water is just like in the movies/tv shows, where it can go blistering hot or super cold ha. If you're looking for authentic 'living like a local' style accommodation, this is it. There's also Netflix + Hulu in the apartment, which helped tremendously on snow days! Thank you Hayley, we'll be back.

Staying at Hayley's was wonderful. Great location, easy to get anywhere as subway stop right on the street but also plenty to do in the neighbourhood. It was great to come home to a warm, welcoming place after a day out in wintery New York. Hayley was easy to communicate with and although was not there during our visit made sure everything was just right. Would highly recommend.

Great location! Perfect for a sightseeing weekend in nyc... Very clean and Hayley was super accommodating. It's a small room but has everything you need. Good restaurants and bars a few minutes walk away... We liked it!

Hayley was a very helpful host. Very good communication, we arrived when she was out of town and due to a slight mishap we couldn't get in...but some quick thinking and helpful neighbours and all was sorted. The room and apartment was fine, we really enjoyed the location being close to the subway, bars, coffee shops and convenient stores.

Hayley is a great host! She was very easy to communicate with and accommodated our late arrival. Her apartment is in a nice neighborhood and everything was clean. The most important advantage is: it is close to the subway station, what was pretty convenient for us. All in all: it is a nice place to stay for a trip to NYC.

Althrough Hayley was not show up she arranged everything for us. The apartment is fine, good location, good bed and facility, we had a good rest there. And the blocks aroud is also nice, worth walking around.

We didn't get to meet Hayley, because she was out of town, but she organized everything, so we felt very welcomed in her small but very clean and cozy apartment. The neighborhood was very good, so we had good days in Williamsburg and Manhattan, where you can get in a few minutes with the L train just around the corner.
