I cannot recommend Su as a host or his gorgeous flat in Condesa highly enough. I've spent quite a lot of time in neighbouring areas of Roma and Hippodrome / Condesa now - it's my unofficial second home. This apartment is a gem. It overlooks a mini park of trees and fountains on Amsterdam which make the view almost entirely green without blocking out the light. The light is amazing, the long side of the flat including the bedroom and huge living room is entirely floor to ceiling windows with a narrow balcony. The kitchen is big with an enormous fridge, washer and dryer all of which Su was happy for me to use. There are 2 good bathrooms, both marble and well lit. Su is easy-going, generous and considerate; very easy to spend time with and speaks near perfect English. He likes to smoke but doesn't like the flat to smell (a pet hate of mine) so always smokes out the window. The weather is constantly pleasant in DF (Mexico City) and the flat is so large and airy this worked perfectly - I was never annoyed by the smell of smoke. I thoroughly enjoyed staying with Su and hope to return when I'm next in Mexico. Condesa (or Hippodrome as the smaller area defined by Amsterdam is called) is probably the nicest zona in DF. It's consequently quite pricey by Mexican standards but easily worth spending a little extra. Everything you could want is within 10 minutes pleasant walk from the flat. Loads of restaurants, shops and bars - I particularly recommend the comida corrida like Andricio's on Calle Coahuila and Ojo de Agua 2 blocks to the right of the flat on Amsterdam. Also try jugo de naranja y fresa, sin agua, sin sucre from Mercado Medellin. For tacos (everyone should eat taco al pastor whilst in DF) go to La Cueva del León on Nuevo León (their atun special is superb) or El Tizoncito on Tamaulipas. There are loads of Ecobici stations, a metrobus station, a metro station, a Superama supermarket if you fancy more recognisable food, 2 beautiful parks (Mexico and Espania) and pretty much anything else you could want within 5 minutes walk of the flat. Brilliant city, wonderful area, fantastic flat and lovely host - enjoy.
