About this listing
I invite visitors to stay in the beautiful master bedroom and I happily sleep in the smaller bedroom. The house comes with a modern kitchen, a big backyard and both a ping-pong table and a soccer field in the basement.
Diamond Street is perfect Lancaster County small-town living with a plain sect pretzel bakery across the street and a huge beautiful Roland Park two blocks away. With the exception of occasional alarms at the nearby fire station and frequent sounds of horses and buggies going by, it is scenic and peaceful.
Kitchen, living room, powder room, laundry room, dining area, ping pong and soccer in the basement.
Interaction with guests
I am often home from work in the evenings, but if guests want privacy, that is fine with me.
It is friendly, scenic and fairly convenient.
We are about an easy half mile walk--all on sidewalks--from a stop on the Lancaster County transit system, which is pretty limited and shuts down at about 5 pm. The inter city bus and Amtrak station is 12 miles away in Lancaster.
Other things to note
The fire station is about a block away and every once in a while there is an alarm summoning the firefighters to the station. I like to let guests know in advance so they don't think the alarm means they need to evacuate or go downstairs to the storm shelter.
No smoking, drugs or loud noise. Courtesy.
