Nanche furnished apartment features a living/kitchenette space, a bedroom with a/c, and private bath with tub. It overlooks the tropical vegetation of the La Ropa Beach neighborhood of Zihuatanejo. Weekly bed linen and towel change is included. Nanche apartment is located on an upper level of the multi-level El Tamarindo at Casa Calamondin family complex, Colonia La Ropa.
Nanche’s living space is tastefully furnished with table and chairs, a small daybed, fan, and bookshelves as well as the kitchenette installations (fridge, sink, 2-burner gas cook-top for light food prep). Basic dishware and cooking utensils are provided.
The bedroom holds a double bed, Mexican wooden accent furniture, bedside tables, and a roomy closet. The bedroom has an overhead fan and air conditioning. The bathroom is equipped with a tub and shower.
The apartment has plenty of natural light and views over the palms and tropical vegetation of the La Ropa neighborhood. The apartment is two levels higher than the main house, so there are exterior stairs to negotiate as you move through the garden from street level to apartment level. Just outside the apartment is a palapa-thatched rooftop terrace with hammocks, table and chairs, free wifi, and splendid views of sunrise and sunset skies.
The Nanche apartment is ideal for one to two people but can accommodate a third person on a foldaway cot or on the small daybed in the living area.
Four separate buildings house independent apartments and rooms in the El Tamarindo at Casa Calamondin family complex that winds up a slope from street level. A pathway and a series of exterior stairways wind up through the garden areas to access each of the modules. Cozy comfort and low-key relaxation characterize the home.
There are two entrances onto different sections of the property, and guests are able to access the rental units via exterior walkways and stairs without having to go through the main residence. Every room and apartment has independent access from the exterior.
For outdoor lounging, guests have shared access to a rooftop palapa-thatched terrace that overlooks the tropical greenery of La Ropa and affords lovely sunrise and sunset views.
Depending on family occupancy and other rental conditions, renters staying at El Tamarindo may be granted access to the front terrace and dipping pool of the main house.
Interaction with guests
Family is sometimes in residence in the main house, and other guests and family may share the front terrace and dipping pool, so at times we do all hang out together. Generally, though, peaceful relaxation and few human distractions reign within the property.
The administration office is located on the property. I am usually in on weekdays between 10 am and 6 pm (but I often escape the fetters of the clock and take off at unorthodox hours). The house manager, Felisa, checks the house daily, and we are both available by phone and email.
Other things to note
There is free WiFi available on both the upper rooftop terrace and the lower terrace of the main house.
Once-per-week linen and towel change is e included. Your unit will be delivered thoroughly cleaned, and we include an initial supply of drinking water, soap, and toilet tissue for your arrival. Extra drinking water is available for purchase.

Welcome to the west coast of Mexico and beautiful Zihuatanejo Bay. Zihuatanejo has been my home since the mid-1990s, although I first fell in love with it while visiting it with my family in 1969 when it was but a tiny and dusty fishing village.
El Tamarindo at Casa Calamondin is a family compound completed in the early 2000s. Much of the family currently lives elsewhere in Mexico and in Canada, leaving the cozy rooms and apartments of this somewhat sprawling tropical home available for rental and sharing -- a perfect AirBNB opportunity.
Zihuatanejo has always held a special place in our hearts, and we have found that it becomes equally special for almost all the friends and visitors who've spent time with us over the years. Maybe it's time for you to discover Zihuatanejo, too!
Interests and passions are books (there is plenty of reading material at the Tamarindo!), gardening (mainly vegetables), enjoying our incredible beaches (and for my husband, surfing), and, of course, travel both within Mexico and abroad. When we can't get out onto the road ourselves, we're happy to listen the stories of world adventure from our guests, especially while sitting out in the rocking chairs on the front terrace of El Tamarindo.
