Get away from it all in this extremely tranquil bush retreat. Brand-new residence located within 50 acres of one of the few-remaining virgin bush blocks. Drive 30km to Port Campbell and the Great Ocean Road with it's world class attractions such as the 12 Apostles.

The space

Step off your back step and into 50 acres of untouched bush land. Walk under majestic gums, past native wildlife or loop around the property perimeter on your mountain bike. The house itself is architecturally designed to make the most of the natural setting. The living area is open-plan and a deck surrounds 3 sides of the house. There is instantaneous gas hot water for washing and pristine tank water for drinking. There is the opportunity to ride your mountain bike through the bush land on a track or go bush walking to experience the natural bush. Access to the track by 4WD is available on request.

Guest access

Access is through a locked private gate. The hosts will meet you there.

Interaction with guests

Hosts will be available to help you with any requests during your stay.

Other things to note

The hidden jewel of Jancourt is its surprising wealth of native animals and plants, a microcosm of the Australian bush. Waking early, you will be privileged to the morning chorus, as a host of birds flitter through the soaring eucalypts, their musical calls echoing between the trunks. Marvel at the surprising cackle of the laughing Kookaburra (Australia’s giant kingfisher), the warble of the ever-present magpie and the light (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) and blue flash of the superb fairy-wren as it bounces through ferns.
If you’re lucky, dark fluffy swamp wallabies and majestic grey kangaroo’s can sometimes be seen browsing the shrubs out-front or even resting on the deck. In the evening, be surprised by the deep grunts of amorous male koalas as they challenge each other across the forest. Or the patient observer might witness a ring tail possum as it scuttles across the deck in the dusk.
Like everywhere the best times to see wild life is early in the mornings or as the sun goes down in the evenings. Whatever your level of enthusiasm for the wild, Jancourt is a wonderful place to just relax and allow the natural sounds of the bush wash away the city from your mind!

If you are after a peaceful bush retreat this place is perfect. Set amongst tall eucalypts you wake to the sound of birds and feel like you're a million miles away from the city. You're a good 20-30mins from the closest towns to buy food so just make sure you prepare yourself for the stay. Julie was a good host, everything was as she said and there was the added bonus of some homemade goodies in the fridge on arrival!

The home is in a very secluded and quiet location surrounded by woodlands and the sound of the birds. We saw some Kangaroo's in the distance. The house is well maintained, well equipped, and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay there using it as a base to explore the 12 apostles and other sights on the great ocean road. Its a 20 minute drive inland from Port Campbell.

Perfect! This is an amazing place, so quiet and peaceful, surrounded by bush and we loved the visits from the wallabies. Everything that a family of four would need is here. Excellent communication with the host, and the little treats were much appreciated. We didn't want to leave.

We had a fantastic stay! The setting in bushland is really peaceful and private and the large balcony and windows ensured we could make the most of this. Had everything we needed and more, there was plenty of room for 2 couples, very clean and we appreciated the treats on arrival! Would love to return.
