Private Guest Room in a Western North Carolina Homestead

Come enjoy the peace and quiet of a rural 150-year old farmhouse, conveniently located within easy driving to many western North Carolina attractions.

The space

The bright and sunny guest suite, which has its own private entrance, includes an en suite bathroom, a comfy queen bed, and TV w/ DVD and lots of movies. (Wifi and cellphone coverage are a bit spotty)
An extra cot is available upon request.

The room boasts a small balcony that overlooks vast flower and vegetable gardens, a small stream, and lovely shade trees. The spacious yard is a perfect location for wandering, or just reading, resting, and enjoying the view. The property is home to a host of lively critters, such as chipmunks, squirrels, rabbits, and plenty of birds, as well as our family dogs and cats.

I am an excellent cook, and for a small extra charge, I can also serve you a full hot breakfast that includes coffee or tea, eggs from my own hens, and homemade blueberry muffins. Other meals are available upon request.

You are welcome to rise early or sleep in, though we do have a rooster!
Enjoy complete privacy or come sit in the kitchen and share a cup of tea with me.

Guest access

If you need to arrive late, you can come around the right side of the house to the deck and go up the stairs to your room. A private key code will be provided.

Interaction with guests

I have lived here a long time (38 years) and am happy to help any way I can.
There are several guidebooks in the room to help you plan your days.
I enjoy visiting with my guests when you want company but always respect your quiet and privacy.
Attention Gardeners: If you have an interest in organic gardening, I would be happy to share tips and my expertise in exchange for a little help with planting/harvesting.

Suzette was a wonderful, welcoming host. Having an abundance of food, she graciously served me dinner my first night in town, which was perfect after a long day of traveling. I so enjoyed talking with her as well. I didn't spend much time at Suzette's during my stay, but I so loved coming back to my cozy yellow room after a long day of traveling. If you're looking to stay at a quiet, beautiful place tucked away and off the beaten path, Suzette's home is a great choice.

Suzette was quick to respond, her house sits on a beautiful property with gardens and is very secluded, its a little piece of heaven. the guest quarters were private and well maintained. We would highly recommend her home and would stay again

Had a great relaxing stay away from the noisy city. From Suzette's place it is an easy drive to Asheville and the Biltmore, and also close to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock, and all the other gems out here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The bed was very comfortable and Suzette helped me figure out my plans for the weekend. Thanks Suzette for a lovely stay!

If you are looking for a beautiful quiet area than this is the place to go. Suzette went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. I rate 5 stars. We use airbnb all the time and this experience was the best.

Suzette has created a space of warmth and peacefulness. Upon arrival you might be greeted by several friendly dogs, a cat who insists on being caressed, a rooster that talks to you, and an assortment of birds - including hummingbirds. Her gardens are beautiful and those tiny cherry tomatoes are so sweet! Sadly, time and the elements took down the beautiful weeping willow that has stood since the time of the great and terrible War Between the States. Oh, the stories it could tell if it could talk. Location is excellent if your visit includes Flat Rock and Hendersonville. A hidden treasure.

I am an empty-nester after many years of raising kids but I still plant a big vegetable garden and grow lots of flowers. I live in a beautiful place and enjoy observing nature around me
I like meeting new people and hearing their stories.
A true foodie, I like to cook and especially when I have someone here to cook for.
