WELCOME TO LA SIRENA - your perfect St. John getaway! This unique location's privacy, proximity to nearby beaches and trails, and short distance from the shops and restaurants of charming Coral Bay make it an ideal vacation destination for hikers, snorkelers, explorers - or folks who just want to enjoy the peace & quiet.
La Sirena's private bedroom suites and expansive indoor and outdoor gathering spaces also make it a great location for couples or small family groups traveling together.
The space
At this secluded, charming gem of a property, we invite you to take advantage of the quieter side of the island. Recently featured in the New York Times' special Winter Travel section ("Chilling Out in Coral Bay, Where Even Flip-Flops Are Optional," Dec. 3, 2024), our side of St. John offers an off-the-beaten-path traveler's paradise. Our guests often remark at the absence of light and noise pollution here — the only sound you'll hear is the chorus of frogs and birds as you stretch out and enjoy views of vibrant green hills, sparkling turquoise seas, and bright-blue skies.
At La Sirena, your sun-drenched days can be spent in quiet luxury. With a spacious tiled poolside patio and cabana bar, you can float, nap, and sunbathe during the day and enjoy al fresco dining in the evening. Or, enjoy your dinner at the teak dining table on the covered upper balcony, then revel in the shooting stars as you gaze out over the ocean. If you'd rather be inside, you can relax in the spacious screened-in porch offering cool evening breezes as you watch the moon rise over lush National Park lands.
The entrance of La Sirena leads you into the villa's kitchen, living and dining area (with table seating for four to six), with an open floor plan where guests can enjoy each other's company while cooking, reading or watching TV. The galley kitchen features concrete countertops and a pass-through window/breakfast bar with stool seating for three.
Just above the kitchen is the charming sleeping loft overlooking the great room, featuring a queen-sized bed and (new in December 2024) a small standing air conditioning unit to help keep guests cool while they sleep. Guests on this floor have access to a large full bathroom off the living/dining area, complete with an enormous shower with a window looking out to the Caribbean Sea.
The main level is cooled with ceiling fans and multiple sets of sliding glass doors that lead to the wide covered balcony, where you’ll enjoy bay breezes and breathtaking southern views of nearby Kiddel Bay and the open Caribbean Sea. Also just off the main living area is the spacious screened-in porch — a wonderful spot to lounge with a book or share a meal or a board game around the second dining area (with table seating for six). Guests also have direct access to the covered balcony from the porch, through a screen door near the second dining area.
From the balcony, a spiral staircase leads down to the pool deck and the two air-conditioned master bedroom suites, each with a queen bed and its own private bath and shower (one is an enclosed outdoor shower with its own private views of the surrounding National Park lands.) Each bedroom has French mahogany doors that lead out to the pool patio, cabana bar, and grilling area.
This villa's secluded location in the peace and quiet of Estate Mandahl provides exclusive deeded access to the snorkelers' paradise of Kiddel Bay, just a five-minute walk from the villa's front door. Or, just a few minutes' drive away you can stretch out on the alabaster beaches of Salt Pond or Little Lameshur Bay, and enjoy the unparalleled hikes of Ram’s Head, Drunk Bay, or Reef Bay (to see Saint John's famous petroglyphs!)
You may never want to leave your little private slice of paradise at La Sirena, but if you do, Coral Bay's dining, shopping, boating — and even Lime Out, the Caribbean’s famous floating taco bar — are just minutes away!
Please note that base nightly rate is based on 4-guest occupancy. Additional nightly fee of $45/night for each additional guest over 4.
***NEW IN DEC 2024: We have added a solar array with a battery wall backup system, to help fill the gap during short-term power outages! Also new this season is a 7-stage (including UV) under-sink drinking water filtration system in the kitchen.***

Although the road to La Sirena isn’t steep like so many on the island, it is roughly graded — and it’s necessary to have a vehicle with ample clearance! We strongly advise that you book a Jeep Wrangler or similar 4x4 well in advance of your trip. We recommend Courtesy Car & Jeep Rental on St. John, or 360 Car Rental on St. Thomas.
****ALL GUESTS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO PURCHASE TRAVEL INSURANCE WHEN PLANNING THEIR TRIP. Many policies offer cancellation coverage for severe weather, flight or other travel delays, and other unexpected events.****
