The space

Located on wide, leafy avenue Laval in the exciting Plateau district of Montreal. Four bedrooms, of which two bedrooms have double beds, one has a king size bed and one room with a single bed. Two full washrooms with showers/baths.

Three-story, renovated 1850 'maison de ville', on a very attractive leafy street, one of the prettiest in the neighbourhood. The house has 12' ceilings and many original architectural features. The street has little traffic, wide sidewalks, classic ramshackle Montreal victorian architecture, ample free parking on street. We have a large backyard deck to allow outdoor eating, plus a jacuzzi spa which you may use.

Near Sherbrooke metro station (10 minutes), walking distance from Jazz festival venues, and 10 minutes walk from the delightful parc du Mont-Royal. Great shopping on Boulevard St-Laurent and St-Denis within 5 minutes walk.

The house is well suited for families, as we have lots of childrens' toys and safe areas to play. House is also perfect for groups of friends coming to enjoy Montreal's festival spendours.

SPECIAL for ARTISTS and MUSICIANS! We will consider renting the basement suite for a weekend to visiting artists at a very reduced rate in exchange for sharing your creativitity, whether it be a piece of art, a performance, etc. To be negotiated, a negocier!

N'hésitez vous pas à nous écrire en français y en espanol tambien. Gracias et merci.

Guest access

Everything, and in summer a working and clean jacuzzi hot tub

The neighbourhood

Our street is quiet with little car traffic. It is heavily treed, an urban oasis. The side walks are extra large and neighbours and their kids friendly. If you are a family or not, you will feel quite at home.

Getting around

The metro station is quite nearby (Sherbrooke) about 7 minutes away by foot.

This is the family home which makes it great since we were a family as well. Beyond the house, the location was absolutely fantastic. There were, at least, 30 more restaurants (of all kinds) in walking distance. Host was great and replied to all our inquiries. We would definitely stay here in the future if it were available.

What a little gem in one of Montreal's best areas! It will give you a unique taste of what living in Montreal is like. Super clean with lovely terrace. Walking distance to the metro and tons of shops & café. For any visitors with a car, I recommend parking in an indoor garage for the trip & using mass transit. There's virtually no street parking. There is a garage about 1 mile from the house near St-Laurent & Sherbrooke. I would totally rent with Peter again!!!

A lovely character home in an awesome neighbourhood. Peter, the host, was easy to work with. I would certainly stay here again. Note: Not a party house - it's the home of a family with two young children.

Would highly recommend staying at Peter's characterful house in the happening Plateau area. Although we didn't actually meet him or his family as they were away on holiday, we felt completely at home in their place, which is ideal for families as there are lots of toys and books to keep small ones busy ... that is, when you're not out enjoying the cafes and parks all within walking distance. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend as a place to stay.

Peter's house in the Plateau worked out perfectly for our group of 6x. In particular, the outdoor patio was fantastic and we spent many hours out there in the evening after going out on the town. There were also plenty of places in the neighborhood which was quite charming and accessible. Further Peter was very accommodating, and easy to work with. I'd highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to visit Montreal and enjoy a more casual vibe.

Peter's house in the Plateau is great! We stayed there with our 2 y.o. son for a week, and had a great time. It is in a perfect location, accessible to anything. The outdoor patio is fantastic and we spent many hours out there. Peter was very accommodating, and easy to work with. We were there in the midst of summer, and the second floor did get very hot and sticky, so as there is no AC I'd recommend sleeping in the basement bedroom if it is hot out side. And the other thing I'd caution is that parking is really quite bad, particularly during the week with street cleaning, etc.,and at night. Though it is likely better at "off season" times (we were there in July). Make sure you have read and understood the signs! But unless you have a specific reason to have a car, don't bother - you certainly won't need one to explore the city from this location. Otherwise, it was a great space, well kept, good communication, and a cat that is so friendly you would swear was actually a dog in disguise (this from someone who doesn't even like cats!). Highly recommend to anyone!

Gorgeous house, amazing location (close to shopping on St.Denis), cute cat, and awesome backyard spaces. My only reservation would have been that if it had been hot, we would have been very warm in the house.

Hi there. I'm Peter, a native anglo-Quebecois and am married to Raquel from Spain. If pressed, I'd suppose we're friendly, outgoing, happy go lucky people. Tri-lingual (SP,EN,FR). No great phobias or complexes uncovered to date. You'll love Montreal for all its exquisite culutral attractions and casual dilapidation. We do!
