The space

My apartment is located in a North Melbourne land mark known as the former Mulcahy's Hotel. Perfectly hidden behind the timeless facade, this wonderful apartment offers a peaceful, secure and private space in which to relax and unwind.


The apartment features high ceilings, polished timber floors and spacious open plan living filled with an abundance of natural light. The surrounding private outdoor garden terrace is perfect for enjoying a morning coffee or pre dinner drinks. It has excellent conveniences including television, heating/cooling, Wi-Fi and fresh linen and towels are provided.

The kitchen is fully equipped with Blanco oven, electric hotplates, fridge, dishwasher and microwave. It contains everything you need to cook up your favourite dish.

The bedroom is separate and spacious it has a comfortable queen-sized bed, bedside tables, lamps and built in robes. The apartment ideally suits 1-2 people however a third or fourth guests can be accommodated in the living room on the sofa bed.

The bathroom is bright and clean and comprises a washing machine for your use.

Everything is set up for you to have a wonderful relaxing stay whether you're a weekend visitor planning an extended holiday or on business, this apartment provides an ambient space for the ultimate city fringe experience.

I have visitor maps to guide you around the city and 'Hide & Seek Melbourne' to assist visitors to discover Melbourne's unique precincts, arts and events.

Check in around 1 pm (can be earlier if the apartment is free the night before)
Check out time around 10 am (can be later if the apartment is not booked on the same day)

Please note: Free car parking is available on the street outside of the apartment.

Interaction with guests

My aim is to greet guests on arrival as it's always a pleasure to meet new airbnb members. However at times it's not possible due to family and work commitments and arrangements are made for guests whom I'm unable to meet regarding access to the security pass and key prior to guests arrival.
I will be available via email or mobile to assist with any questions or queries throughout your stay.I am more than happy to provide guests with information and recommendations around good places to eat, things to see, what tram to catch and any other Melbourne related questions you may have.

The neighbourhood

The apartment is located amid North Melbourne’s eclectic mix of old Victorian terrace houses, warehouses, low rise apartments and industrial spaces. The apartment is walking distance to many of Melbourne’s best cafés, small bars, wine stores and restaurants both in Errol and surrounding streets. You can take a stroll to the Queen Victoria Market, Melbourne CBD or a quick tram ride to the neighboring suburbs of Fitzroy, Carlton and Collingwood.

Getting around

Trams and trains are at your doorstep to transport you to the CBD and surrounding suburbs of Fitzroy, Collingwood, Richmond or to the beach side suburb of St Kilda.

Myki (my-key) re-usable smart cards can be provided for public transport for use during your stay which you can top up as needed. Starting 1 January 2015 there is a new free tram zone around the Melbourne CBD which is a bonus for guests. I can provide information/recommendations for car share or car rental options.

Smoking is not allowed in the apartment, however guests can smoke outside on the terrace.

I am unable to accommodate pets in the apartment.

The apartment was comfortable and actually was better in reality than the photos posted on Airbnb! Jennifer was a wonderful host. She communicated exceptionally well with us and although I did not meet her, she responded promptly to all my queries. I would definitely use this place again when visiting Melbourne.

Jenni was a terrific host, very accessible, attentive and generous. Her place is modern, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. It's ideally located, within walking distance of cafes and shops (even the CBD if you want to stretch your legs), and very close to buses and trains.

Melbourne is a great place to call home. It is wonderful city to take the time to wander and explore. It has a creative and friendly vibe and renowned food scene.

Checkout my gorgeous apartment in the landmark Mulcahy's Hotel in near by North Melbourne . . . 2km from Melbourne CBD. It's a wonderful precinct of Melbourne and home to the best cafe's in town!!
