What a great stay! Philip was awesome. I had to make a last minute booking, and Philip was very accommodating. Hearing we were arriving late, Philip even offered to grab us some dinner/drinks in town. Had a bottle of wine, and some farm fresh eggs from his chickens in the fridge. Class act! From the start he was super quick and honest to reply. He even mentioned that we might want to consider other rentals when we told him we were going to be spending a lot of time in Pismo beach. I am very glad I did not take that one peice of advice ; ) It was a quick 30 min or so ride to the beach. I really respect a person that would potentially cost themselves money, to make sure someone else was happy. Thanks again Philip, I'm very glad we chose to stay there!
To the place itself, I would say he undersold the house in the listing. It was great, very eclectic, and a bit rustic. We were traveling in a group with children, infants, parents and 30 something singles. We all enjoyed it thoroughly. It is great for groups, and as Philip stressed, treat the place as your own and just enjoy it and have a blast! The game room is a nice touch, lots of rooms with super comfortable beds. Brand new appliances in the kitchen with some extra food supplies. The real star of the show was the back yard. Multiple grills, awesome huge wood table for outdoor eating. Frisbee golf, trampoline, nice outdoor light set up. Really great. Big bonus for the amazing cat and kitten, huge hit with the young girls. Also super friendly dog that watch over the cats and was very social. Some of the nicest animals I have met in a while.
It is a bit tricky up a dirt road (road was fine just GPS didn't map it well) just stay to your left and each turn! Super easy after that tip. The dirt road was fine even for a fairly low convertible. If I'm being a nitpicky as possible, it could use a bit of cleaning in the showers. Hard country water is hard to get off glass. You can see its a stretch to even find a big criticism of this place. I also found it a nice mix of rustic and nice everyday convenience, but if you wanted something super modern and urban, this would not be it. That said, even in a large group of techies and families, that really didn't bother us at all!
We talked about making it an annual trip! So we may see you again Phil!
Thanks for a great stay!
