Cheap and cheerful! Simple double room & bathroom in chilled out yet busy family home of 3. We live in a log cabin and we love loud music and enjoying life!! From here it is a 20 minute walk to town and the lake. The amazing Mt. Roy is an asy 10 minute drive or short hitchhike away. The famous Blue Pools are an hours drive from here through iconic South Island scenery. Cardrona, Treble Cone and the Snow Farm Ski Fields are an hours drive through stunning open country.

The space

A simple bedroom with bathroom next door, in a cozy log cabin built by us. Our home is open plan so if you're wanting privacy and peace, this may not be the spot for you.

Guest access

Guests have access to a sometimes shared bathroom and a private bedroom. There are no cooking facilities however there is a mini fridge in the bedroom. Guests are welcome to enjoy our trampoline and our fabulous blow up pool as well as use our bbq area and the outside lounge. (See photos)

Interaction with guests

Sometimes we are here, sometimes we are not.

I have a wanaka skydive voucher for sale at a discount. I can't use it due to a back injury. 15,000 feet, 60 seconds freefall. Full price 450. Will sell for 385.

We enjoyed our stay here and would stop again if we were in the area! Deborah has a lovely home, family and pets and made us feel very welcome. The location is also great for walking or driving into central wanaka.

I spent 2 nights in Deborah's awesome log cabin. It's a proper family home with lots of character, and the entire family including their lovely dog were super friendly and welcoming. Great shower too which is always a bonus! The short walk to the start of the Mount Iron track is ideal too. A great place to stay and I really enjoyed chatting to all the family.

Very welcoming home, coffee and popcorn were amazing and cannot recommend staying here enough. The log cabin is great for a stay away from the centre of the town but an easy walk down to the lakefront. Great choice of books and films also!

We had a great stay at the log cabin. The host (Deborah) was very welcoming and our room was a good size with a nice bathroom and towels provided. Only a short walk to Mount Iron which has beautiful views of wanaka. Would definitely stay here again

Lovely place to stay for a night in Wanaka. Town was walkable but we were grateful to have our car as weather was very wet! Owen says thanks for the great coffee!

I communicated with Deborah, as my daughter was travelling around NZ and my husband and I were going to travel around NZ with them. Deborah always replied really quickly to any concerns I may of had! We dropped our daughter off and Deborah was so friendly! We were all exhausted ! Georgia and partner Joe skydived 15,000 ft at Lake Wanaka! An amazing experience! We wished we could of stayed longer as Lake Wanaka is beautiful. Thanks for looking after my daughter and sorry it was such a short stay! I highly recommend Rob Roy Cabin and value for money.
