House Rules

Dear Guest,
Please find some important informations about the house here below

• The availability of fresh water in Sardegna, especially during summer months, is limited. The Stazzu uses a cistern system and we kindly ask to use water with prudence and respect.
• The tap water is not drinkable. This is true for most tap water in Sardegna, so do be aware.
• Please do not leave food or trash bags outside the house for long periods of time, as there are animals !
It is absolutely forbidden to grill or use fire outdoors. Please also use extreme caution when smoking outdoors as well. The risk of wild fires in Sardegna is very high due to the dry landscape, please be very mindful of this.
• The area is very windy and therefore please be sure that when keeping doors and windows open, they are blocked.
• In case of strong winds, please take down the outside tent

Enjoy your staying

Filippo & Julia

We enjoyed our two weeks at the "stazzu" in June very much. The place is nicely located in the mountains and very quite, still close to the next village and city. So driving remains limited if your excursions are not reaching out too far but you will need a car. The two houses are designed in a very tasteful way and you will find everything you need. Filippo or his local helping hand will provide you with what is not there. Our four children slept in the smaller house, leaving us a living room and enough space in the other one. Anyway, we had all meals outside because of the great summer weather. We can warmly recommend this place to you when you prefer the countryside silence over more crowded places at the coast. You will see stars and even the milky way at night, make siesta under the olive tree and appreciate the outside shower when coming back from the beach. Furthermore, there is a lot of design and style in the place that makes it even more comfortable and nice to stay and hopefully to come back.

We had a wonderful time at the house. It is the perfect location to explore the coast the Esmeralda, just 10 minutes of nearest town (Porto Pozzo.). Great interior, just as on the pictures, and nice place to relax. Would recommend it! Had great days at de surrounding beaches.

We arrived in the evening and were met in the nearest bar by Georges, a lovely and charming caretaker, who escorted us the 10 minute drive to the property, after dark. He was excellent, and was to look after us if we needed anything. The property looked great - just as we had expected from the website. We were tired and more or less fell into bed. Unfortunately the bed felt damp and only warmed up slowly. I think it was because we might have been the first visitors of the season, and the weather had not been very good. In the morning, there was no hot water, but Georges came within a few minutes to sort it out. The property is heated by solar power with auxiliary electric heating, and Georges explained that the water was cold (and presumably the bed was damp) because there had not been much sun) The property was clean and very presentable. It was well furnished and stylish, with some good reading material and local guides. It was private and although there were three buildings with potential for guests, we had the whole place to ourselves. The region is a very rural one and the local landscape was rugged. There are few neighbours and driving is essential. It takes about 15 minutes to get into the nearest town - Santa Teresa which has everything you might need for a holiday. The gardens were a lovely meadow with wild flowers and olive trees, and a large gravelled area outside the house. A newly installed pergola with solar heating panels replaced the tented awning described in the website details. However, long grasses were growing through it and we didnt find a need to use it. We ate on the terrace in several different locations depending on the time of day and the wind direction. They were all lovely. TV and music were available but we didnt use them. Cooking facilities and equipment were great. We noticed that the bedroom ceiling had a problem with ants and debris, which fell onto the foot of the bed daily, but this was a small problem and probably not helped by the winds. We never saw the neighbours. We had a great time, recommend it and would go back ourselves.

We enjoyed our stay at Filippo and Julia’s stazzu very much. The setting is beautiful and the house very nice. The surrounding area is filled with condos and nice beaches, but the best days were lounging at the stazzu inside and out, cooking meals ‘at home’ and enjoying the little cats that came to visit. Out and about, we really enjoyed the Thursday market in S. Teresa (in the bus station area) and swimming in the tiny bays among the rocks.

We had a great time at the stazzu of Filippo and Julia. It is realy a great place to stay and close to some fantastic beaches in the northern part of the island. Filippo is very helpful. In porto Pozzo there are 2 nice restaurants with a view on the harbour and very nice food.

Our stay at Filippo & Julia’s Stazzu was an enchanting experience to say the least. Set on a hill in the rocky outcrops of Northern Sardinia, the Stazzu offers easy access to nearby blue waters, aquamarine-trampoline amusement parks, hams of both light and dark colour, and friendship. Filippo & Julia were friendly and helpful hosts. George, who showed us to the Stazzu, is likewise endearing, and plays in a local band. The house also has it's own nearby police force: Inspector Rex, the neighbourhood German Shepherd dog. Rex speaks Italian and basic English, and is keen for a pat and sleuthing. Our top recommendation is visiting a nearby Agriturismo, "La Tegghja, cucina tipica Gallurese", for dinner, an incredible restaurant run by the vivacious 'GP' and 'ah-Lily'. It has the best porchetta you can imagine, stunning views of nearby beaches, and comfortable couches for watching your favourite football team play. We hope to visit the Stazzu again soon. 5 stars

Unforgettable stay in this dream stazzu, surrounded by the Mediterranean thicket and in the silence with only the chirping of cicadas .... for a relaxing vacation is ideal, so good you almost do not want to go to the beach ... particular attention to detail, everything is chosen with passion and sophistication! Try it!

We are a young, American-Italian couple based in Milan, with backgrounds in art and architecture, something that we think reflects very much the style and feel of our house in Sardegna. We love to travel and are total culture vultures. We have 3 little boys who, like their parents, absolutely adore being in Sardegna. We look forward to helping you enjoy your stay anyway we can.
