I have just returned from Charlotteville and I wish I were still there! When we I arrived I was stressed and tired but after a few days of soaking in the calm and beauty of this quaint fisherman's village, all my troubles were forgotten! I love coming back to this basic but comfortable house because it feels like home. Beverly painted each room in different bright colours, the beds are big and the shower is nice and warm and this, after a rainy damp day, is really pleasant. New curtains and new sofas this year! Don't rely on wifi if you have important emails to write or receive because the connection is feeble: if you need something urgent either you use it at night or very early in the morning or you can go to town in front of the public Library!! Hope there is nobody in the upstairs apartment because if you sleep in the second room you can hear the footsteps and this can be slightly irritating at times. Nevertheless, the view from the house of the jungle is splendid, the sea is 5' walk and the village and the few food shops, just 15' minutes Tobagonian slow walk. If you have complicated food tastes you had better do the shopping in Scarborough, but if you have no particular needs you will be a king. The fish arrives fresh from the sea many times a day and on a Friday there is a rich fruit and vegetable stall. There is a permanent smaller similar stall, every day along the beach towards the far end of the village, for basic needs. The food at G's Tasty Kitchen next to the liquor store is simple but delicious and the Roti is super. Next year I think we will stay 3 weeks at Beverly's so we will have fuel to resist in our polluted hometown. Take along anti-mosquito products and if you are European remember our mosquito foggers don't work due to the different voltage they don't heat enough: you will find mosquito coils also at the shop round the corner, I forgot to mention before. It is kept by a very nice lady and it's in Campbelton in the road at the back of Beverly's house. Salome the lady in charge was as usual very friendly and very efficient. We had a problem with the wash basin tap on Sunday morning and on Sunday afternoon it was repaired.

Beverley's place was great with the exception of an upper rental suite (not mentioned)above the lower bedrooms. The foot noise and chair moving can be irritating at times. The location of the home was perfect to town or the beach. It is a very simple home with a hot water demand shower head and the same in the main sink. The is no air conditioning but there are fans. Remember to bring bug spray if the windows are open as the gnats will get to you. The outdoor shower is refreshing after a soak in the ocean as well. Good onsite parking for one vehicle. The area is exceptionally quiet but the roosters will start waking you up around 4 AM. That personally didn't bother us but it may to others as they are running all around freely. We did enjoy our 5 days at this location. The Suckhole bar and grill is a must. It is open most days from 12-3 pm. Sharron and Phebs is fantastic all day with the owners being fantastic hosts. Mikes bar on the north of town is perfect for a beer in the afternoon and a must see is SunSun at Pirates Cove. It's a quick walk north of town. His rum punch and culinary skill for a beach meal was second to none

A very Caribbean house in a quiet village location where you feel part of the community not a tourist in a resort. The walks to local sights and beaches are a delight. If you are looking for nightlife and fancy food choose a different location. We loved it.

We didn't meet our ex-pat host, but her local agent (neighbour) looked after us very well

We are a family of four - medical professionals with 2 sons in, gay friendly, enjoy travel and the outdoors, meeting new people. We require a non-smoking environment, we love our Ridgway and Western Slope community, and look forward to sharing our home and our knowledge with like-minded travelers looking to experience the beauty and excitement of Colorful Colorado!
Thus far, we have really been excited to host visitors from Canada, Australia, California, Arizona, Texas, Washington, South Carolina, Michigan, Tennessee, and the Front Range of Colorado. It seems that travelers, not tourists, choose our off-beat location, and they are our kind of people!
