Beautiful barn conversion set in mature gardens and surrounded by peaceful open countryside with magnificent views of Shatton moor and the Hope valley. A walker's paradise or a businessman's bolt hole. It is ideal for people who love the country.

The space

The cottage is situated in a courtyard near the main farm house. There is a pleasant beamed living room downstairs. A garden door leads out to a sheltered south facing sitting area. Bedrooms and new bathroom are upstairs. This cottage is suitable for a young family and can be let with the Hayloft next door for a larger group.
There is a television & DVD in the sitting room and Wi-fi access. There is ample parking space.

Guest access

Guests have access to their own private garden and also use of the tennis court.

Interaction with guests

We are generally friendly people who enjoy company and hope to offer a warm welcome to guests. We would hope to be at home and available to answer questions and give information about the local area and walking possibilities. We can provide bread, butter, eggs and tea and coffee for a first morning's breakfast by arrangement, so guests will not have to rush out and buy something but otherwise are not offering breakfast or meals. Where possible we would be happy to collect from the station on the first evening when guests are arriving on public transport.

Other things to note

There are a number of nice pubs in nearby Hathersage and Hope that serve lovely homemade food.

Orchard Cottage is a lovely place for a country retreat. We have stayed before and hope to return in the future. We found the cottage clean and we'll stocked on arrival. It is so peaceful around here and our kids live the open spaces and the tennis court. The beds are comfortable and there is a lovely outdoor space to sit and enjoy the summer evenings.

We had a wonderful stay at Orchard Cottage. We booked in for a few days peace and tranquility with our two-year-old daughter and this place truly delivered. As well as the beautifully maintained cottage there are some idyllic gardens and walking routes to explore. It's also just a short drive from the nearest small village where there are lots of shops. We are hoping to book in again next summer.

The cottage is in a really lively spot, it was all lovely and clean, the beds are comfy and there is plenty of hot water thanks to the solar hot water system. There's a lovely garden and on arrival we found a small hamper of bread, eggs and other essentials. Corinne was a great host. Highly recommended.
