About this listing

Enjoy your stay in comfortable elegance with this beautiful home built in 1850. A sunlit full bedroom to yourself; an entry hall, sitting/breakfast area, and 1.5 baths shared with other potential guests. Or book all three rooms!

The space

This is a beautiful, Italianate style house built in 1850 that has been in our family from the beginning. This particular room has a beautiful window that looks out over a lovely garden and horse paddock. We love this old house and hope you will too!

Guest access

You'll have private access to your room; the other spaces on "your side" of the house are shared among guests. If you'd like to book all three rooms, then of course you will have access to everything (at a discount from booking individually).

Interaction with guests

We will be on the other side of the house and available should you need anything, but for the most part will give you your privacy.

Other things to note

We have three great dogs. Though they won't be in your rooms, they will be outside from time to time and will likely want to greet you when you come and go. For this reason, this home might be best for dog lovers!

A nice place step back in time to relax. The house is full of character and the surrounding farm is worth a visit. The hosts are really caring individuals that want their guests to have a pleasant and memorable stay. We even got to spend time visiting with the horses and discussing local history and both the host and hostess had great referrals for food and places to visit. We'll be back!

Our stay at DeeDee's place was perfect! We were traveling home to Dallas, driving through Kentucky and wanted to find lodging to enjoy the countryside and to visit a bourbon distillery. DeeDee's place was spot on! She even helped make reservations for our visit to the Woodford Reserve operations nearby. Her property is very historical and simply stunning. They have very friendly dogs and a stable of thoroughbred horses to enjoy. Duncan, DeeDee's husband, gave a tour of the stables and shared information on his/her's family history dating back to the American Revolution. It's is very convenient to downtown Versailles, just outside of Lexington, and several good restaurants. Highly recommend!

DeeDee and her husband Duncan are the most hospitable hosts. We felt welcome the moment we arrived when their dog Willie greeted us. Their 1850s architecture home is beautiful and DeeDee has it decorated with timeless antiques and beautiful art work. This will be the place I choose to stay on any future visits to Kentucky!

I had a tremendously wonderful stay at DeeDee's farm. She could not have been more pleasant and welcoming, and she graciously accepted my last-minute booking. The house is full of history and is well maintained. It was a treat to see a horse farm in operation.

We could not have asked for a nicer stay at Dee Dee's place. She was so welcoming and sincere and both her home and farm were gorgeous! Staying here allowed us the opportunity to experience "true Kentucky". Such a relaxing visit. We will definitely be returning in the future. DeeDee words can not express the appreciation of you allowing Nina and Wes Photography to come into your home and capture our family as we prepared to celebrate our daughters graduation from UK. Thank you for our cherished memories.
