This is a traditional, completely renovated house located high above the main harbour, with wide views over the bay and islands beyond. Accessed through a network of stone-built pedestrian streets, it is only 70 m from the nearest parking zones.

The space

The island of Skopelos, the scene of the recent film success "Mamma Mia", has 15 unique sand and pebble beaches, and a number of historical and cultural sites - and a well developed and documented network of trekking paths. Waters around the island are part of a large marine preservation park containing some rare marine life and are therefore off-limits to all non-recreational sea traffic. The Skopelos town, in its entirety, has been designated a traditional cultural preserve and its traditional architectural style is protected and is being closely regulated. All Skopelos community is proud of this unique island.

Guest access

The house is developed on three levels - three bedrooms with a bathroom and a balcony on the upper floor, connected by a wooden staircase to the lower floor with the kitchen, one more bedroom and a second bathroom. Further down, after a few steps, is a spacious living room with an open fireplace, opening into a courtyard shaded by a lemon tree. Two main bedrooms are air-conditioned and fans are available in the other bedrooms; there are two double beds and two single beds available in the total of four bedrooms. The house can be entered either through the entry door upstairs or through a lower gate opening directly into the courtyard. The kitchen is fully equipped (cooker, refrigerator, washing machine, kitchen appliances, etc.).

Interaction with guests

Upon arrival at the port of Skopelos, you will be met by a person who will accompany you to the house and will advise you about its use. In case of an unexpected emergency or any other event, you will have a local phone number to call for immediate help and advice.

Other things to note

Because of high overall levels of electricity consumption during the high tourist season, all houses in Skopelos operate on a regime which does not allow excessive use of electric appliances, especially not all of them at the same time. Specific instructions will be given upon the guests' arrival. (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)

Villa Anna is a real gem in the heart of Skopelos Town. A beautiful old house which feels like home the minute you walk through the door, with stunning views and a lively residential atmosphere. We really felt like we were living in Greece, with friendly neighbours, picturesque small streets to explore and the sound of the church bells marking the hour. Ideal location if you wish to be away from the more touristy port and want to experience a more authentic side of Skopelos. The terrace with the lemon tree was a highlight and we would often have dinner out there or play cards after our afternoon nap. The stairs from the port give a good workout, and the house is located about 10 minutes up from the port, so it should be noted that this is better suited to adults/couples who wish to have more privacy and do not have small children in prams. All communications with the host were warm and professional and I would happily return to Villa Anna when I return to the charming island of Skopelos.

We enjoyed our stay in Anna's Village and Skopelos. Loved the view from the patio and balcony. Be aware you will have to move your luggage through stairs to reach the ring road. So better pack light. Walking down the stairs to the port and ammenities was easy. Peaceful and safe location. We were during a heat wave and noticed just 2 rooms have AC. Also as an old house, nicelly renovated, energy is an issue to watchout keeping heater up when used, and take it off when not needed.

Simple and tastefully designed villa. If you want to experience a non-touristy greek island, this is it! Easy to walk to restaurants and shops but need to be comfortable with the steep uneven steps of the town. It's an enjoyable maze of stacked homes with clay roofs and colourful climbing flowers. Thank you, Dusan!

We had a great time in Skopelos. Dusan's house, ideally located on the heights of Skopelos Town, is the perfect place to experience local life. The house is a typical village house with a superb sea view from the bedroom balcony. We also greatly enjoyed having lunch on the private terrasse planted with a lemon tree. Everything went smoothly for the check-in/out with Karin who lives nearby and is always available. We highly recommend the place as a base to explore Skopelos.

This is the perfect home from home. Villa Anna is stylish and homely with all the amenities you could want, great view, lovely little secluded courtyard garden. Parking was an easy five minutes walk away. We didn't meet Dusan but communication was great and Karin met us at the ferry and showed us around, recommending restaurants, etc, and she lives locally so if we'd had any problems she was to hand. The neighbours are great too. Access to the house could be a problem for the not so able bodied, ie lots of stairs and the house itself is on a steep street, but it's far enough away from the harbour side and bars and tavernas to make it peaceful (the only noise is church bells and neighbours chatting). Heaven!

Retired architect / development planner always interested in traveling, exploring and discovering local cultures. Together with my family, we have lovingly restored this large traditional Skopelos town house which we are enjoying for the last 30 years. We are proud to be a part of the local community which is still preserving all its old local traditions.
