Description

The space

Downstairs queen bedroom overlooking the town and Picton Harbour. Your area is locked off from the rest of the house so that you have complete privacy. We do not provide breakfast or a fridge but do supply tea and coffee and there is a great bakery nearby. We are happy to chill wine or keep perishable food items in our family fridge for you.

Guest access

You have complete privacy with the downstairs living area to yourselves. There is a queen bedroom, shower, separate toilet and patio area with table and chairs. You also get your own parking space big enough to fit a camper van if necessary.
You have basic tea and coffee making facilities including milk. There is no kitchen however there are great cafes and restaurants a short 15 min walk away.

Interaction with guests

The area is completely private and separate from the rest of the house so you can stay with as little or a much interaction as you'd like. We will always be around or contactable during your stay to help out with anything you need.

The neighbourhood

The views are stunning, the area is safe and our neighbours are fantastic :-) From the house you can walk into town or to one of Picton's many fantastic walking tracks. Alternatively you can sit and take in the views of the Marlborough Sounds and Picton Township

Getting around

We live at the top of a steep hill. If you do not have a car and are travelling with a lot of luggage we recommend taking a taxi or shuttle up to the house but once here you can walk into town. If you are wanting to hire a car, all the rental companies operate very close to the ferry terminals but we would recommend booking them well in advance. Alternatively, we may be able to pick you up depending on the time you arrive and whether we are around. Once you've settled in, it's an easy 10-15 minute walk down to the town centre where you can over-indulge knowing those extra calories will be burned off on your walk home back up the hill :-)

Other things to note

We have a portacot available free of charge and there is room to set it up in either the bedroom or the small hallway that leads to the bathroom and toilet.

Very pleasant and private room with views and a 15 minute walk to the centre of this small town. Jonathan was the most helpful host, picking us up from the bus station and taking us to the ferry plus providing lots of useful information. It was just the sort of stay with knowledgable and friendly locals that Airbnb is all about.

Enjoyed our stay & chatting. Bed a bit small for a couple our age with bum hips & knees.

Location was amazing. The room was most comfortable and we really appreciated the chocolate treats from the local chocolate factory. Our host was generous and very helpful.

Jonathon is a host who goes the extra mile. When I carelessly left clothes in the wardrobe he got in touch with me and posted them off. It's a lovely place to stay. Clean spacious and great views I would definitely go there again

The room was very welcoming and spacious. It was a short walk from the ferry terminal with great views of the harbour. I would definitely stay there again if I am ever in Picton again. Jonathan was very quick in accepting our booking and kept in touch regarding our arrival and check in process.

It was a great stay with Jonathan and Megan. I told hosts I will arrive at 9 pm and when I arrived Megan was in the room waiting for me. I felt very well welcomed by her great hospitality. The room is nice, tidy and homey. The bed is very comfortable. It has a great view overlooking the hill and Picton harbour. They have spare books in the room for book lovers to take away if they like. I enjoyed a lot staying there and only wish I could stay longer. Highly recommended!

I'm a dual NZ/USA citizen living happily in NZ with my beautiful kiwi wife and our gorgeous son. We like to travel and look forward to making the most of AirBnB both as guests and hosts.
