We are a couple and live in The Hague, The Netherlands, but try to be very often in France, the country where my mother comes from, so a part of my roots.

This part of France, near Bourges, which was the former capital of France, is not touristic. In the Middle Ages it used to be a rich part of France, which you can still see because of all the Roman Churches you'll find in the neighbourhood.
The village Vesdun, where the house is situated has a nice recently renovated restaurant opposite to the old roman Church with its fresco's from the 11th century
