A quiet room in a house just one back from the sea. Come to relax and unwind, recharge your batteries. Enjoy the beach walks, sauna, watching the sunset, local coffee shops and eateries, as much/as little activity as you like (bike trails, yoga, shops).
Dietary preferences catered for. Your breakfast could include croissants from the local french baker or smoked salmon scrambled eggs! Just say.

The space

There is a shared Indoor/Outdoor room as well as a lounge on Level One, with a good selection of (UK) DVDs, CDs as well as a 50" TV and stereo.
A sauna is available to guests. Several outdoor areas to relax in.

Suits either a couple or a single. The bed is a double.

Stay a week and use this superb location as a Retreat. A local beauty/massage therapist can be booked. It's all very relaxing with the sound of the waves rolling in. The yoga classes nearby are excellent and can be booked for you.

Bikes should be on hire locally now. Please enquire for supplier contact.

The Raumati Social Club is very relaxed and cruisey, serving breakfast through to evening meals; music nights regularly. Gatsby Tapas is also interesting and excellent. Local Thai take-away food is exceptionally good.

Several more to choose from in nearby Raumati Beach and Paraparaumu.
Shop for clothes, gifts, home furnishings in Margaret Road.

Guest access

The house is sited in the second row above the beach and has shared access to the shore via a few steps along a rustic part of the shore. A few neighbours also use this access.

Donella is a wonderfully gracious and generous host. I felt completely at home during my stay. Her house is beautifully set up, in a great location and with lots of choices of pleasant, comfortable and secluded places to hang out in her terraced garden. The sauna was a dream! My room was very nicely set up with spare blanket, hot water bottle and bed socks and dressing gown. The bed was incredibly comfortable and it was blissful being able to drift to sleep with the sound of the waves coming through the window. The bathroom for this room was also lovely - great shower. I felt incredibly pampered throughout my whole visit and wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying with Donella for a restful break.

Donella was a genuinely lovely and gracious host. The photos of the home don't do the incredible vistas justice, it was a delightful surprise to find myself in such a beautiful, meticulously maintained home, in which Donella so generously and warmly shared with me. I would have no hesitation in recommending Donella's for the discerning traveller. I would certainly love to return for another stay!

Donella. User ProfileDonella. is a superhost.

I am thought of as friendly, helpful and hospitable, and "go the extra mile" to make an occasion special.
Having lived abroad for 35 years I have a genuine interest in people and places, cuisines and wine, travel and culture. Lived in the UK and spent considerable time in Scotland and France, with holidays to many European destinations and Australia.
My background is project and operations management so I have a tendency to plan to succeed by focusing on the small details rather than just sketching out the big picture. Career was spent in the Oil and IT industries.
In recent years I have worked with several small businesses in a coaching and mentoring capacity. Interestingly my guests have often enjoyed interactions about their business development.
