Great location
90% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Hiker, artist-friendly private space in semi-rural neighborhood. Quiet bedrooms, private living room, dining nook, full kitchen. Close walk to eateries, and hiking trail to petroglyphs. Sally knows great places to hike, bike, paint, and birdwatch. No smoking inside or out. There is no TV, but a screen and HDMI cable for streaming, and there are some DVDs.

The space
Welcome to the guest suite! Spend your time on site, just enjoying a quiet, shady get-away, or discover the small town charms of Prescott.
The suite is comfortable and roomy, a great place to kick back and relax, enjoy the local bird life, occasional javalina sitings and far away coyote songs. Private living room, dining area, private bath with shower and plenty of hot water, quiet bedrooms with queen-size Serta bed in the main bedroom, Simmons Back Care Ultimate bed in the second room. You need to let me know if you need the second bed made up.
There is no TV, but a flat screen and HDMI cable for streaming, and there are some DVDs.. The space is naturally cool in the summer, with fans or portable air conditioner units for the occasional evening you might want additional cooling, and is warm and cozy in the winter. Electric oil heaters provided if furnace isn't enough.
The yard has fruit trees, plenty of shade, and a work-in-progress garden area. It is all fenced off, and gated at night to keep out the javalinas.
You will be three blocks from Centennial Trail through 'Enchanted Canyon' to 'Petroglyph Point'. This is a rarely used hike through Juniper, Ponderosa and Manzanita, crossing a tiny creek bed (flowing in winter and during monsoon season) back and fourth until it ends in high rounded granite boulders with 100 ancient petroglyphs.
Dining within a few minutes walking distance. Groceries etc. within a mile.

Guest access
1150 square feet. Fully equipped kitchen. Coffee and teas are provided. Also, help yourself to fruit, toast, cereals, yogurt and milks. Enjoy the shady deck and use the gas grill or fire pit and roasting sticks for stay-in dinners. One guest parking space under carport, four more on site but not covered.

Other things to note
This is a semi-rural area. The few blocks from the main street to my house can be a bit run down looking, but don't worry. The neighborhood is filled with long time Prescott residents of all walks of life. The neighbors are friendly and look out for one another. There are retirees, artists, builders and backyard farmers. Your farm eggs when available come from four houses away. We have block parties and there is even a neighborhood music jam every week.

Kitchen arrangement: I store some of my food in the fridge/freezer in the AirBnB unit but don't need it when I have guests booked. There is plenty of room for anything you need to keep cold.
The Airbnb side has the two bedrooms, bathroom, living room, dining nook and kitchen. The kitchen is off your living room. Your access to the deck is off your kitchen.

My neighborhood is rural and rustic! No HOA in sight. It is on the edge of town with many small backyard farms and gardens.
Three of Prescott's long time favorite restaurants are within a five minute walk. Just half a mile to 24hr Walmart, Starbucks, pizza, fast foods, and within a mile to Safeway, the best donut shop ever, shopping areas and YMCA. The center of town with galleries, restaurants, cafes, small local boutiques, and antique shops, the famous "Whiskey Row", micro breweries and a meadery, is a ten minute drive. Here also is the Courthouse Plaza ("The Square") with its many festivals, shows, movies, and cultural events.
Prescott has many venues with live music, Thursday - Saturday.
Yavapai College Performing Arts Center brings in live shows, and hosts the Phoenix Symphony concerts throughout the year.
Day trips to the tiny mountain artist town of Jerome, Native American cultural sites, or the stunning hikes and world-class galleries of Sedona. The Grand Canyon is two hours away.
See my "Guidebook" for places to visit.

I love to travel to meet people, and learn more about our world through their ideas and cultures. I love to walk through new places and discover the local colors, sounds, and scents. China is one of my favorite countries to visit, and I have also spent time in Peru, Austria, Great Britain and Mexico. I am a full time artist, with calligraphy and painting my main media. I sing and play guitar, speak a little Spanish, and enjoy hiking. My favorite times are spent with family, including my grandchildren. I can't wait to meet you!
