A simple, but comfortable and nicely decorated little house in a lush garden, just 25 meters from a beautiful sunset beach. In a tranquil neighborhood of Ko Samui, ideal for a cozy thai holiday away from the crowds. With a well-equipped kitchen for those who love to cook.

The space

The house is 25 meters from the beach of Lipa Noi, in a lush garden that includes another bungalow, nested in a tiny residential compound. The whole place is a sort of hide away, super green, super quiet, away from the roads and the noisy tourists spots.

The house is a few minutes driving from Nathon, Ko Samui's administrative capital - which offers plenty of great restaurant and a take at local Thai life. There are a few restaurants and shops at walking distance, but I really recommend to plan a car or a bike to go around Samui. That can be sorted out on demand, or found easily in nearby Nathon.

The beach is a long stretch of smooth sand along the bay of Lipa Noi. It has very little development, so it is super quiet and gorgeous at sunset. Right in front of the house the water is protected by a reef. It is very shallow and super safe. A few hundred meters away along the beach it becomes deeper and it is perfect for swimming.

Here is a bit more information about the house itself:

The bungalow offers a laid-back living room, and a really nice, shaded terrace with a rest chairs and a dining table. A proper wifi connection is available: not as fast as European internet, but good enough for (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). I recently installed a new connection in my second bungalow, which works as a back-up for this one. Two DVD players are available in the living room and one of the bedrooms, with a stack of DVDs ready to go. The house has a full kitchen - complete with gas-oven and burners. It's a terrace kitchen: it is well protected from sun and rain, but you cook in the fresh air. The kitchen is large enough for a good cook, and well equipped with woks and pots, a juicer and a microwave, everything needed for baking, etc...: I like cooking, and I think it feels in the kitchen!

There are two bedrooms: a master bedroom with a king size bed, and a second bedroom with 2 single beds. Both bedrooms have air conditioning. In the second bedroom, an extra bed can be pulled, to sleep 3 people. Mind that I won't be super comfortable then, but it can come handy!
The bathroom has a shower with hot water.

This is my house when I stay on Samui, so it is like staying at a friend's house: it is a simple house, but all the comfort is there to relax with family or friends, and the house is ready to enjoy beach life.

Looking for more?

Under the reference “lovely 2 bedrooms, garden & beach”, you will find the spare bungalow that I reserve for family and friends - it is a bit smaller than the present listing but, well, lovely!

And under the reference “Beach retreat for families & friends”, you will be able to book the combination of both bungalows, for up to 9 people.

Guest access

Independent house, 2 bedrooms, a living room, a large terrace on the garden, a full kitchen. Parking.

Interaction with guests

I am most often abroad. I can be reached for support, and the housekeeper, who lives 800m from the house, is available to help. She can arrange things like renting a car or bike, etc...

Other things to note

Important: Samui does not have an easy address system and Thai taxi drivers do not speak much english. If you travel with your own car, I'll hence share (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps coordinates and guidance to find the house. Otherwise, I usually book a taxi who knows the house, and will take you directly there.
Because of my travel schedule and the time difference with Thailand, it sometimes can take 12hours to reach me. I therefore always organize check-in details 3-4 days before the arrival day, and share the phone numbers of the taxi driver and the housekeeper - in case of flight delays. I then kindly ask guests to follow the arrangements we have made, because it avoid worries for everyone.

House Rules

The key things:
Wifi: there are 2 networks, one in each bungalow (though they can be used in both bungalows):
One is called fiber2u, password "(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)".
The other is called Benoit3bb, password "(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)".
Everything in the house can be used. In case you break something - no drama: nothing in the house has intense emotional or financial value. However, please kindly either replace it, or signal to us.
We do all a complete cleaning before and after every guest of course, but as we are not a hotel, we kindly ask you to clean your dishes, dispose of your waste, and leave the house in good order upon departure.
You will find towels and bed sheets in the house, no need to bring your own. If you stay for more than a week, we can come do a house clean-up and change the bedsheets and towels at the frequency you choose, at a cost of 1000THB.

A few more details:

- The gas cooker has an automatic switch. To light on the gas, push and turn, the gas will come out and a spark will light it (in the smaller house, you need matches). Keep the knob pushed down for a few seconds after the flame appears, so the burner heats up, otherwise the security system will cut the gas. Close the tap on the gas tank after usage.

- The house has air-conditioning in the bedrooms. The aircon will cool the room to the desired temperature in about 10mn – so we kindly ask you to switch it off when you leave the house: beyond being greener, it will help us keep our bills low and the prices reasonable!

- When you leave the house after your stay: let Waan know ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)) when you leave, she will come pick the key, or ask you to leave them in the oven if she cannot. No need to clean up the house, but do kindly leave it in good order, do the dishes, and let us know if anything was broken, so we can replace it for the next guests.

We had such a wonderful time at Benoits place! The house was just as described, very homely and comfortable, had all the features and appliances you'd need. The terrace kitchen was great, fully kitted out with pans, cutlery etc, although we didn't use it a great deal as the local restaurants were fantastic. The area was perfect for our family of two adults and two children (11 and 6), very quiet and peaceful but with enough shops and restaurants within walking distance if you're having a lazy day and don't fancy venturing too far. Our youngest counted 73 mini steps to the beach, which was idyllic, especially at sunset! As it's not a particularly touristy area the beach isn't as pristine as some others on the island, and there is a small amount of debris/glass washed up on the shore, but so long as you watch your step it's not really a problem. Its a great spot for looking for shells and wildlife, and really safe for children as the water never got above waist height even at high tide. Wan, the housekeeper, was really lovely and helpful, and sorted a rental car for us, which you will need if you want to go exploring. However, there's plenty to do and see nearby you're never in the car for long, and driving around the island is a fun experience in itself! Benoit was a wonderful host, and gave us loads of helpful information which really made our trip easy and stress free. Taxis were arranged for us to and from the airport, which was a great help, and although we didn't need any further contact over our two week stay Benoit was very reassuring that should we have any issues he could be easily contacted. Overall, a comfortable, clean house in a wonderful quiet area, and a super helpful host and housekeeper made our holiday really special. We would definitely return here should we find ourselves on ko Samui again!

We spend some nice days at benoit 's house. It's quite well equiped and spacious..perfect for a family like us. The beach -with a Beautiful Restaurant - is nearby. The water is not perfect but shallow and so perfect for kids. Contact and communication to benoit and the housekeeper were easy and friendly. Bike or Car is recommended.

The house, the location, the neighbors were all fantastic. We spent a month in Benoit's house, and were all pretty sad to leave. As we are travelling for 2 years, every place we stay at is really our home, and this is exactly how we felt. Great outdoor kitchen, very confortable living room and terrasse. Nice and quiet beach, beautiful sunsets, beach restaurant next door. Good AC and wifi. We rented Waan's scooter for most of the time, as well as her car twice, so that shopping and going to town was easier. Benoit gave us many tips and info, he was always very fast to answer any questions. Waan also took very good care of us and all the needs associated with the house.

Lovely home with in 2 minutes of the beach. Nikki Beach is about a 7-10 minute walk down the beach. Very nice outdoor kitchen and a wonderful music collection. If you plan on a long stay, you might want to bring a pillow top mattress cover as the beds are pretty hard- this might also be the norm in Thai homes.
