Fantastic room finished to a high standard, excellent location and a huge tasty breakfast. Friendly family too!

Very secluded but right at the bottom of the start of the climb for mini adams peak. Very rustic and basic, just a room with a bathroom but hot water, incredibly hospitable and friendly family providing tea on arrival, directing us for food locally and bringing a two course breakfast in the morning.

We enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend the Sri lankan breakfast. Location is great for little Adams Peak and has a great view of Ella Rock. It's a short walk to the town centre but the steps to the property can be a challenge with large luggage, especially at altitude. Highly recommend this place to stay.

Great place to stay! We were so happy with the room it's simple but clean. The breakfast was AMAZING coconut roti and sambol was our favourite. Wifi was really fast and the owners were happy to organise anything we needed. It's a little out of town but an easy walk or tuk tuk ride at night as it is very dark with no street lights. Staff were so lovely and smiley

Champi was a very welcoming and accommodating host, and always quick to respond to messages. The place is a little hard to find (up a side road and up around 50 steps), but when we arrived the key was in the door and we were able to go straight in. The room is a great size with a nice jungle view and little terrace for the delicious breakfast. Champi is very keen to send you on excursions which is great, but can be a little challenging with the language barrier - there were some aspects of the trip that we weren't keen to do, and thought we'd arranged otherwise, but then found ourselves in a van for 2 hours to visit a tea factory in another province, which was closed when we arrived which was disappointing. One night I had food poisoning and champi brought me water when I requested which was very helpful. We needed to do some laundry whilst we were there and again he kindly offered to do this for us - I would however recommend waiting until you're out of Ella as the bill ended up being 3600rupees for one bag of washing!!! Overall a good experience, but if you want to do your own thing, make it clear you have it all planned out!

Great accomadation. Very stylish and comfortable. The bed is great as well as the shower and the view. Also great breakfast and dinner. Within walking distance to the main road of Ella although at night it is recommended to bring a light since the road is not lighted. Short walk to little Adams Peak.

Our stay at the Spice Lodge was perfect. To come to the Guesthouse, you have to climb a few stairs up a hill. There are no other houses very near the Guesthouse, just trees. It is nice to watch the Chipmunks in the garden. The Design of the house and furniture is very beautiful. Kamal was a great Host. He took us to the little Adams Peak at Sunrise, showed us a teafactory and organized a real Sri lankan cooking lesson and the breakfast was big and delicious. I would really recommend to take a cooking- lesson with Kamal and his mother. I learned to make tipical Sri lankan Rice and currys and it tasted sooo good. When you go to Ella, this is the place to stay!
