The cabin was lovely and cosy, very quiet and peaceful. There is an abundance of wildlife at the lake, with so many birds and animals. The area is beautiful and Nevada City is close by and is a great town to spend time in, with good restaurants and cafes, music and art. We really enjoyed our stay.

Kathryn's spot is a little slice of heaven on a quiet lake with so many things to do. We enjoyed canoeing and kayaking, as well as just cooling off in the lake. It's an easy drive to downtown and to the yuba. It was the perfect escape!!

Had a wonderful New Year's stay at the cabin. The cabin is quiet and a great place for a friends or family getaway. Had a great time using it as a home base for exploring Nevada City and hikes along the Yuba River. I'd recommend Independence Trail West, just 15 minutes drive from the cabin.

My boyfriend and I stayed here with his sister and cousin for a family reunion we were attending. The space is small as expected, but cute with a big kitchen and bathroom. There's no cell service or wifi so it was tricky communicating with the rest of our family. We had a great time and everything was as expected.

The host was very responsive and gave accurate instructions. The cabin is rustic but could use a fresh coat of paint and some updates to the furnishings. The bed was made with flannel sheets and an electric blanket, in July. We appreciated having access to the lake and being able to canoe with our small children. The location is perfect for accessing the Yuba River.

Kathryn's directions and descriptions were perfect. The lake was full, the spring rains made the surrounding forest lush and green. Very quiet, sweet cabin. The heater kept the house a perfect temp for the cold mornings but by the time the sun was up it was nice and toasty. Best times to hang at the cabin are mid-morning to late afternoon then off to the lake or for a walk in the woods. The kitchen worked great, we love to cook and grill and are grateful Kathryn allows dogs. Would love to stay again. Thanks for making the cabin available!
