Naxos Getaway is a lovely, hillside villa with modern conveniences, beautiful open private swimming pool (children require supervision) and well-kept gardens. Comfortably sleeps 6 people. Located in gorgeous Orkos, with unobstructed sea, mountains and sunsets views. Fabulous choice of beaches, kitesurfing/windsurfing, market and taverns close by.
Naxos Seaview Getaway is a large private property, with a traditional Cycladic house, situated on a peaceful hill 350 meters from the nearest beach. All rooms have big verandas which lead to different kinds of well-tended gardens ( wild scrubs, cactus, herbs, fruit and vegetables, flowers, trees). The house and property have unobstructed views of a mile-plus stretch of sandy beach, cultivated fields, summer sunsets over the neighboring island of Paros and the rugged, boulder-strewn interior landscape. Front balcony is great for sunset cocktails.
House and separate guest studio total 140 sq meters (1500 sq feet) on two levels. Main floor includes an open-plan living/dining area, modern, fully-equipped kitchen (including espresso machine and tap-operated water filter, so buying bottled water is Not necessary), and a WC.
Pool-level floor includes two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a utility room with washing machine.
Also attached on this level is the studio apartment which has a separate entrance and private, outdoor seating. It is ideal for people who want to vacation together but also want their own space. The studio includes two single beds which can be joined together, a kitchenette, indoor seating and a bathroom with a shower.
All rooms and verandas have sea views.
The rooms have tower or ceiling fans, and screened windows.
The space can comfortably accommodate six people.
Outside, the house is surrounded by gardens with cushioned, built-in seating, hammocks and Adirondack chairs for comfortable reading. Garden includes fragrant and medicinal herbs, such as basil, lavender, rosemary, thyme, oregano, verbena and sage, wind chimes, and ... maybe some apricots, figs, melons, tomatoes, eggplant and parsley (if they haven't been eaten yet).
Please Note: Although this accommodation is great for kids because of large amount of outdoor spaces for playing, it also requires extra careful supervision of children due to open pool and drop on its one side. (See photo on homepage). Fun, but possibly slightly dangerous. Sorry kids.
Exclusive access to the entire property of 1300 sq meters (14K sq feet). The house is a 20-min drive from Naxos Port/town center where tennis courts, gyms, outdoor cinema, a hospital, many restaurants, shops, museums and various forms of entertainment can be found. Also, arrangements can easily be made for day sailing trips or cruises to surrounding islands (e.g., Santorini, Mykonos, Delos, Paros). Exercise mats, light weights, board-games, beach paddles and floats are available in house for use by guests.
Car highly recommended.

Other things to note
Property is in Orkos, one of the most picturesque locations in Naxos, with wonderful coves and beaches, both private and developed. It is a 15 drive to the airport and a 20-minute drive to the historical Venetian capital town and port (Chora). The beach nearest to the house is at the foot of the hill, just 350 meters away, a seven-minute walk down/up if you like a little challenge (hill is quite steep.) However, a car is recommended for easy access to beaches and to explore the island. Naxos is the largest of the Cycladic islands and has some great restaurants offering delicious local products, many interesting archeological sites, museums, byzantine churches, pretty traditional mountain and seaside villages, as well as several summer festivals.
Care and respect.
No smoking indoors. No pets indoors.
No jumping from pool bench into pool. (Drop at the side of bench makes this a tad dangerous. Sorry kids.)
Also, there is a tradition in Greece to keep a quiet house in the summer between 3-5:30 pm. This is to allow people/neighbors to take their afternoon siestas, which is a big part of summer holidays for many. We ask our guests to respect this tradition. This means, basically, no loud music or rambunctious playing in the pool during those hours.
