The neighbourhood

The peaceful, small town atmosphere of Kure Beach offers a holiday reminiscent of a simpler time. Spend your days fishing off the 700-ft pier (the oldest on the Atlantic Coast); or enjoy the miles of beautiful beach; lazily soaking up the sun, splashing in the waves or taking a sunset stroll.

Conveniently located in the heart of Kure Beach and .3 miles to the ocean, our home is walkable to many local shops and restaurants, as well as the Kure Beach Oceanfront Park & Pavilion (the largest public green space with fun events taking place throughout the year.) Additionally, a large park is (literally) just around the corner with tennis courts, basketball court, baseball field, playground, and frisbee golf course.

Nearby, you can check out the largest North Carolina Aquarium in the state, with a 235,000 gallon salt water tank!! Explore the South's largest civil war fort and museum at Fort-Fisher Historic Site. Or hop on the ferry and enjoy a scenic boat ride to historic Southport.

Only a few miles away, Carolina Beach is just a short drive or bike-ride. Featuring many more restaurants, a boardwalk, Saturday farmer's market, summer fairground, events/concerts and even fireworks!

And if that doesn't keep you busy - downtown Wilmington is just a 20 minute drive.

Getting around

Parking for up to 2 vehicles in the driveway. Additional parking available at Joe Eakes Park - only steps away.

Sarah and family host a very cozy yet eclectic cottage a few blocks from the beach. The location is ideal - walking distance to the Kure beach pier and a park. It was the perfect size for our family of four and included helpful amenities like toilet paper and laundry detergent providing us all we needed for a peaceful visit. The fenced-in back yard includes a grill and a shed with bikes and everything we needed for beach time. We will definitely book another family vacation at this cottage.

Absolute perfection!!!! Sarah is so great , any questions you have she is so attentive too. My children loved this home because it is literally right around the corner from a park that is so clean and well lit at night , and you are right across from the police dept and fire dept. so well felt very safe also . I would have felt 100% safe if I did not have my husband with us. You walk out and can see the ocean at the end of the road , and the house is spotless, I am a bit of a neat freak and I felt at complete ease ! I hope we can come back soon ! My children are already asking to go back and we haven't even been gone 30 minutes. Thanks again Sarah!

What a great place to stay in Kure Beach during our winter holiday break. Just a very short walk to the pier and beach. And it is easily accessible from Wilmington, too. The house is sweet and in excellent condition. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. Because the cottage is directly on a main street through the area, it could get loud in the summer. For our purposes, though, it was perfect!

We stayed with our two year-old daughter on a chilly fall weekend and had a fantastic time! The house was the perfect size for us and Sarah made sure that we had everything we needed to enjoy our trip. Our daughter loved the playground next door, watching the fisherman on the pier, and dining at lots of kid friendly places in Kure Beach and Carolina Beach. Definitely the perfect spot for a family getaway!

Great location, beautifully decorated, nice amenities - bikes, toys, games, beach gear, tv/movie options, deck, etc. All in all a great place to stay near the beach! Perfect for a family of four or four adults if you don't mind staying in the kids room. Really nice local community and beautiful beach only a couple of minutes walk. Sarah was super easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Highly recommend! And the surfer/professor who cuts the lawn is a great guy also :)

Really great house and location!!! Atlantic's oldest fishing pier down the street. Kure Beach and surrounding area is beautiful! Had a great time even in the rain. Sarah is super easy to communicate with. Everything went smoothly.

Sarah User ProfileSarah is a superhost.

Originally from Maine, my husband Jeff and I are high school sweethearts with a love for travel, the ocean and our two boys (not necessarily in that order)! My husband's career in the foreign service takes us to many exciting places but our home and hearts are forever in Kure Beach.
