Description

The space

A classic New Orleans shotgun house, you have 3 rooms all in a row, with full kitchen and bath in the back. You are in the up and coming Bywater neighborhood that is just a quick cab ride or Uber to the French Quarter. Also your very own off street parking if you are traveling with a car.

Guest access

You will have access to the whole house all to yourself! Your host will be next door to check you in/out, as well as help with any issues you might have during your stay. You have a King size bed in the bedroom, as well as a Queen bed and Queen size air mattress available in the other two living rooms, accommodating a total of 6 guests. Because this is a classic New Orleans house, its important to note the rooms are separated by curtains, there are no doors.

Interaction with guests

Other than introducing you to my home and the neighborhood, I'll be around to help you navigate, give some delicious restaurant recommendations, and give you the local's tips to a great stay in New Orleans.

The neighbourhood

Close to the laid back Bywater neighborhood, and convenient to the French Quarter. This is a great way to see all parts of the city without paying for an expensive hotel in the middle of the madness.

Getting around

Cabs and Uber are the best way to get around from this neighborhood, or rent a bike for your stay! The St Claude bus line will take you up to the street car so you can see the whole city without access to a car. We do have off street parking available should you have one though.

Other things to note

There is a 4 night minimum during special events in NOLA, Mardi Gras and Jazzfest.

Erin was a really nice host , but just do your research beforehand on the area of the house if you aren't familiar with New Orleans . Staying near French Quarter means you'll be staying in or near the 9th Ward .

Response from Erin:
Yes, definitely do your research. It's very easy to see where you're staying. It's a working class neighborhood close to the French Quarter. It's a short Uber ride to the action, and that's why the reasonable price. But if you're uncomfortable with that, I would absolutely recommend going the FQ hotel route and not in a local's home.

Erin was a very welcoming host! She left us breakfast and bottles of water and checked in every so often to make sure we were all good and having a great time. I'd definitely come back again.

Erin is really nice and helpful. the situation is perfect to visit bywater and to grab a uber to the city center calm and comfy house to use as a convenient dorm to visit new orleans for few days.

Erin was great. She gave us a tour of the place, explained everything we would need to know, left phone numbers, and was readily available at all times. I would definitely stay here again.

This was a terrific spot to stay the night! About a 5 minute cab ride from the French quarter, easily accessible using Uber or Lyft! Erin did a terrific job hosting us, I recommend this house to anyone looking to avoid the busy/noisy nature of the French quarter or downtown.

Erin was great! She was so kind to be so flexible with our large group! She turned us on to some of our new favorite spots. Couldn't have asked for a better visit. Already looking forward to next time.

I grew up in Des Moines, Iowa... so I have that polite mid-western charm that's hard to grow out of even after moving around to much bigger cities. After a spell living in Hollywood, CA I found myself finishing school here in New Orleans at Tulane University, and now I never want to leave my forever home here. I love showing people all the great spots in NOLA that they might never find without a local's suggestion.
Very much look forward to opening my home to people looking to cut loose and see the way we do it here. I'm around to help you find your bearings and then off you go! Hope you come back to stay again and again in my cozy neighborhood to explore the whole city.
