We welcome you to stay in our home. It is bright and spacious being recently built on my parents' farm in the heart of the Irish countryside. Guests have access a private bedroom & bathroom, and also to the kitchen/diner, living room & outside spaces. We are centrally located, 1 hour+ drive from Dublin and Waterford, central between Kilkenny, Portlaoise and Carlow. Very near Abbeyleix, Ballinakill, Castlecomer and Castle Durrow. Perfect for exploring or to stay when attending weddings locally.

The space
Our house while new, is modelled on an old building, just with no draughts and lower heating bills!

The guest bedroom has a comfortable double bed and a private bathroom. There is a fully equipped kitchen/dining room where guests are welcome to make tea and coffee at any time or prepare and eat a meal. Also there is a sitting room, utility area and literally acres of outside space, all of which guests are welcome to use and enjoy.

There are pleasant views of the surrounding farmland and countryside from all windows of the house.

This is a very tranquil rural space, bird song and the occasional passing tractor are the only sounds you will hear. Also there are very low levels of light pollution here so the stars are very clearly visible when we have a cloudless night sky.

My husband, William and I really enjoy welcoming the wide diversity of airbnb users who come to stay here in our home. We are sociable people who enjoy the company of others. We have both lived, worked and travelled abroad, quite a bit at various stages of our lives. Now that we have more fixed roots and travel less, it is a great opportunity for us to meet those of you who are travelling for a whole variety of different reasons. We especially like to give our foreign guests a little insight into Irish society, history and culture. We look forward to meeting you if you choose to come and stay in our little explored part of Ireland.

During your stay

Typically on weekdays both my husband and I are out at work from early morning until early afternoon. On the weekends (Saturday & Sunday) one or both of us are usually around the house or close by.

My parents live just across the field and are usually at home. They are a great resource to guests having accumulated over 160 years of local knowledge between them.

We try if possible to be here to meet guests on arrival. If we cannot be here we will arrange use of the lockbox with you in advance of your arrival.
