Jemma, January 2022:
A great place to stay in the heart of a lovely Sheffield neighbourhood. Off-road parking, comfortable accommodation and the fastest internet you will ever encounter!

Stephanie, December 2021:
Lovely position and great accommodation. Parking a real bonus.

Helen: December 2021:
A fantastic place in a great location, really comfy bed, books everywhere and lots of extras such as Alexa and smart TV. We've already recommended this place to family and friends.

The space
Your own little one-bedroom house tucked away in leafy Nether Edge. Close to trendy local shops, cafés and pubs.

This is what you get:
Upstairs bedroom with super-king size bed.
Downstairs living room (with sofa bed plus an extra bed on platform above).
New shower room with unlimited mains pressure hot water.
Newly fitted kitchen.
Private off street parking (ample space for 2 cars).
Secure bicycle storage.
Small outside seating area.
Super fast wi-fi.

This is is the converted coach-house and wash-house attached to a fine old Victorian home built in the 1860's. There is a separate entrance for your accommodation so you are in your own private space.
(There is an internal door connecting to the main house, but this is not in use and is kept locked)
We are in the heart of Nether Edge close to local shops, cafes and a traditional local pub. There are frequent buses into town and out into the peak district.

The Old Coach House is a great space for two or three people. But it can easily sleep as many as four. The living room can become a second bedroom with two double beds (one king-size double sofa bed, plus one small double on raised platform). You'll need to be good friends though. Two of the beds are in the same room. And you will all be sharing the one bathroom and the small kitchen.

The first double bedroom is the old hayloft of the coach-house. Very light and spacious with one window overlooking our courtyard and another overlooking the garden. The floor is wooden. The ceilings are sloping and there are old wooden beams and a big desk. But the main feature of the room is the super-king size bed. The frame is hand crafted from timber reclaimed from an old Yorkshire mill. The mattress is pocket sprung. Medium firm. All the bedding is 100 % cotton and there's a cosy duck feather and down quilt.

The living room is downstairs. It is the old wash-house. A very characterful room with exposed brickwork, an old solid-fuel iron cooking range and high sloping ceiling. If you are only booking for two guests, this room has a sofa, armchair and coffee table. If you are a larger party, there will be one king size sofa bed in this room. Then on a raised platform, an additional small double bed. (4ft). Ideal for a single person or two children. This bed is accessed up a steep narrow staircase. (Mind your head!).

There's a little seating area outside - just for you!

There's a really good wi-fi signal and high speed internet connection. The Old Coach House has its own wi-fi access point to a Virgin Media 350 Mbps fibre-optic broadband connection.

You have two Smart TV's with HD Freeview channels and full internet connectivity for BBC iPlayer, All4, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Now TV etc (you need to bring your own account details to log on to subscription services). Downstairs there's a Cambridge Audio wireless loudspeaker so you can play your own music from a phone or tablet.

In the kitchen you have an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge freezer, and washer dryer. There are two cafés very close by if you want to go out for breakfast. And there's a local bakery just round the corner baking fresh bread. There's also a Sainsbury's local supermarket open 7am-11pm. For meals later in the day there's traditional pub food at the nearby Byron House pub. And a multitude of different eating places and local pubs a short walk away.

If you need a travel cot or high chair, do ask, we can usually let you borrow ours.
The Old Coach House has it's own independent gas central heating and unlimited hot water. All bedding is 100% cotton. And there are plenty of towels - no need to bring your own.

If you are coming by bicycle (or bringing a bicycle) you are welcome to use our spacious locked bike shed. We'd rather you didn't bring your bikes into The Old Coach House.

Where you’ll be

Sheffield, England, United Kingdom

Nether Edge is 1.8 miles from Sheffield city centre and railway station. It is close to both the University of Sheffield and the Sheffield Hallam University and close to the main teaching hospitals. There are frequent buses to town. There are lots of trees round here and big old stone-built houses. There are plenty of cafes and pubs within walking distance. Indeed two cafes and a pub on our very own street.
There's a Sainsbury's Local store, an independent wholefood shop and an Indian take-away just round the corner. And a Tesco Local and Pizza Hut ten minutes walk away.
We are 2 miles away from the Peak District national park.
A short drive or local bus journey from Chatsworth House and Bakewell.
