We had a wonderful two weeks at Oscar's beautiful home. We loved the location and the view. Don Antonio, the home's caretaker, was extremely helpful and hospitable. He even showed up one night at midnight after we accidentally locked ourselves out. We loved the authentic location of the house but the closeness of Ajijic for shopping and dining.

First of all I want to express our thanks to the host himself. Oscar's response time along with the willingness to accommodate any request was noteworthy. He went above and beyond. After staying in the home for 5 weeks we really didn't want to leave. It was extremely comfortable. The open concept created the feeling of living outdoors. The furniture itself was comfortable. Everything worked correctly and if it didn't, it was repaired within hours. The home is a very small town where there are few Americans, so it gave you an opportunity to really immerse yourself into the culture. Fresh juices and fruits were within walking distance. The hot spring hotels were a short distance of 2 miles approximately. We plan to return here in the near future.

This home is lovely!! It is in a very Mexican neighborhood, not a gated community or expat area. Situated right on the lake, the mornings are peaceful and the sunsets are amazing! The kitchen has just about anything you would need, coffee maker, blender, microwave, and plenty of serve ware for hosting guests. The three bathrooms each have full shower/tubs, a rarity in most of Mexico!! Antonio is Oscar's right hand man for the property, and showed us the home and what we needed to know to enjoy our stay. He was available when we asked for help and is a very kind man. Due to my technical inability, I wasn't able to personally contact Antonio, but was always able to teach Oscar who in turn contacted Antonio for me. Communication was not an issue! If you are looking for a lakeside home, close enough to both Ajijic and Jocotepec, yet away from the traffic and noise, this is a great choice!

We were met by Antonio at 8am. He was very helpful in showing us where everything was, even although he didn't speak English, and we didn't speak Spanish. We thought that Oscar would be meeting us. I'm not sure whether Antonio had to call him, but we waited for a couple of hours before Oscar arrived. He gave us information about the security system, and several restaurant recommendations. He was very pleasant, as was his wife. We asked about an iron and ironing board which we hadn't been able to find. He said that it had broken and that they would get us one, but they never did. Also we had no hot water for the first two days. On the first day my husband went up to the roof and lit the pilot light, but by the time I'd had a shower there was no more hot water. We had to call Antonio who came and fixed it the next day. We looked and looked but couldn't find a hairdryer. We didn't want to spend the time waiting for someone to come with one, so we did without! We did love the house, and the outdoor space was amazing. The house is in a very poor neighbourhood, with very expensive houses on the lakeside. Also if you want to be in Ajijic often, it's a very bumpy drive into town, with all the speed bumps.
