As always Lucy has been incredibly kind and helpful to me and I cannot thank her enough for making my stay in Seoul enjoyable. Her guesthouse is like a home to me and I truly recommend a stay with her when visiting Seoul as it's in the best location and easy to get to.

This was my second time staying at Sweet Comfort and it was brilliant. Lucy is an excellent, thoughtful, and caring host, who really helped to make me feel right at home in Seoul. I can't fault her guesthouse!

I was a bit worried when I arrive at the subway station and walked to the guest house. My knowledge of Seoul is still rather limited ,and as I was walking the quiet streets on a saturday morning I felt I was a million miles away from the busy Hongdae area I knew well. However, once I actually got out and explored, I found that Hongdae was right on Sweet Comforts doorstep! The guesthouse itself is small, but the rooms are perfect. It feels like your own little home with all the things you need. Very clean, kitchen stocked full of bits and pieces to make breakfast, enough bathrooms so that there isn't a queue. The icing on the cake is Lucy. Such a warm host who welcomed me in with open arms. She was incredibly helpful and she will no doubt make your trip around Seoul easier. The only issue I had was other guests being a little noisy as they came in from their night out partying which woke me up, however, I think that happens no matter where you stay. If you are looking for a great guesthouse I assure you you will not be disappointed. Thanks Lucy!

I stayed at Sweet Comfort House for 4 nights. It is like a comfort home, Lucy and John are very friendly and helpful. The place is very easy to get to and close to the station. The area is very lively, full of bars, cafes, restaurants and a market which is open till late at night. I had a great time in Seoul altogether.

Sweet Comfort House is actually a guesthouse...2 big banners in front of the building...Sweet Comfort Guesthouse... Next door, there are 4 guest houses. This guesthouse has unique features: 1. It is run by a couple. They don't live there and not always there..I was told on the first day by Lucy that I have to text (airbnb) her when I need anything..once I texted her @ 5.00pm because I needed laundry, she replied at 10.00pm telling me that she would meet me next day...I did my laundry at a guesthouse next door. 2. Room with no (URL HIDDEN) blankets...only 2 little towers which I used to wipe my feet.. 3. The gate is operated (URL HIDDEN) a password...if you forget the password, you can't get in...no staff there to open the gate as in a normal guesthouse. On the last day of my stay ( I was about to leave for the airport) at 5.00am, a loud bang at the gate by a drunk asking to let him to enter...he kept on banging the door for 15 (URL HIDDEN) room is next to the (URL HIDDEN) I had to leave, no choice, had to open the gate...otherwise he would beat me when I went out..there were actually 4 drunks who stayed next to my room in dorm beds....thanks God, they did not beat me... On they way to airport, I felt I was lucky in a way that it was not a FIRE.....the window had a iron (URL HIDDEN) way to escape, in the event of fire...the electric gate would not open... (URL HIDDEN)Good luck to you if you are unlucky enough to choose to stay in this sweet guesthouse...

Response from Lucy:
Dear YuKang It’s a pity to hear you didn’t enjoy your stay at Sweet Comfort. To respond to your comments. 1.All our guests have no problem communicating with us, they either leave us a message or a note on the door. We are at the guesthouse from 10:30AM -10PM but there are days we simply don’t run into the guests because of their busy schedule. We left you messages, but you never responded to any of them. We always try to respond to our guests as soon as possible by whichever way. 2.The room has no locks but if you had asked we could have given you a locker to put your valuables. As for the blanket, we have no idea why you slept on top of the blankets without realizing that there were 2 full blankets in your room. As for the towels, if you had just asked us we would have provided you with extra towels 3.We are sorry you had such an experience on the last day. We have not had any trouble with people forgetting the password since we always advice them to take a picture of it on their cel phone. But I guess in this case the guest was drunk. We cannot always know what kind of guests come to stay at our guesthouse. If you felt uncomfortable from the beginning, you could have just ASKED us to see if we could change you to a different room. 4.The window has an iron grill for your safety. You would not want a drunk person to come into your room in the middle of the night through the window would you? The door you can always open from the inside I don’t know why you think the door would not open in case of fire. ALL our rooms are equipped with a fire alarm, and each unit has a fire extinguisher in the common area for safety. Also, there are 2 emergency exit doors not just one. We know that you are traveling the world right now. We hope you are having a great time exploring new countries. All the best.

It was great staying at Lucy and John's place! They were both super lovely and were easily available for contact when problems arose. I received handwritten post it notes on my door to say hello, so nice to come home to after having been travelling alone for a while. The guesthouse was excellent value for money and had all the essentials. Breakfast everyday was a bonus! Thanks for a lovely stay!
