Other things to note

Podere La Fonte is a working farm as well as tourist residence (“Podere” is Italian for farm). The main products are olives and grapes which are grown organically and made into wine and olive oil on the farm. The wine and oil may be purchased from the farm shop and is both delicious and good value. Emmanuela also creates herbal tea infusions and a number of jams from the fruit trees on the farm.Radicondoli is a small, picturesque town which also has everything needed to be a holiday base, in easy walking distance of the accommodation. There are three excellent restaurants, a small supermarket and other shops.

Podere La Fonte has the answer for you. You can choose to rent as little as one of the tree double rooms (with no cooking facilities), one of the two self catering apartments or all the accommodation on offer for a larger group .
Although there are no cooking facilities for the three rooms your hosts are happy to provide meals for an additional charge. Even for self caterers, why not take the chance to be served genuine good food made from local produce, lots of it produced by your hosts on the farm? You will not regret your choice and will be able to enjoy the farm's spacious eating.
Podere La Fonte, a self-sustaining farm where Emanuela and Marco seamlessly toil with love and passion in support of their Tuscan lifestyle. They grow many, many different things on their farm and the amount of work they do cannot be underestimated. Yet, they are salt of the earth people and love what they do.
We are welcomed into their kitchen to learn the art of making pici (fat Tuscan spaghetti), eggplant parmigiana (sans breadcrumbs), torta di Pasqua (a traditional ricotta and Swiss chard tart or quiche, usually made at Easter, and cantucci, a traditional almond biscotti. In addition to cooking in the kitchen, the fire and hearth in the dining room are also used to cook. We drink white and red wines from Marco's vineyards. Emanuela picks fresh persimmons from the tree outside for us to try. We have Vin Santo with our cantucci. This is the last cooking class that Emanuela and Marco will teach for the season as olive picking time is nearing, and they must place all their energy into the olive harvest. They grow many, many different things on their farm and the amount of work they do cannot be underestimated. Yet, they are salt of the earth people and love what they do.

July 2016
We stayed for a full month in July 2016 and it was incredible. The house has three separate apartments, but we took the option to rent the whole thing for a home base for our family and friends during our time in Italy. The best part is the hosts. Emanuela and Marco, who have owned Podere la Fonte for decades, are so kind and helped us with anything we needed-- recommendations, extra linens, etc. and also gave us vegetables straight from the garden and fruit from the trees. The house and farm are an authentic Tuscan experience. Hard to believe, but even the pictures do not do the views and scenery justice. There are amazing sunsets every night. Also, the stone house naturally cools very well in the evening. Everything was great-- the wine made right in the house cellar, Figaro the horse, wild boars, and Italian espresso makers in several sizes. The town of Radicondoli is right up the road as well, with lots of nice things. Can't recommend enough for an authentic, traditional Tuscan experience.

We had an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G time at Emanuela and Marco's . Me and my family- (a group of 10 people, the smallest is my six month old baby and the oldest is my 61 year old father) spent a week at the wonderful farm, and it was exactly what we were looking for. being a big group is not easy to find a please that meets everyone’s need and wishes, but “Podere La Fonte” was a welcoming and warm "home away from home". The breathtaking view and beautiful surrounding - made it hard for us to leave, and the peaceful quietness was the perfect thing for us to came back to every day from our site seeing . We especially enjoyed the big and fully equipped kitchen. The fresh organic fruit and vegetable – straight from the garden made every meal we cooked amazing. Emanuela and Marco were very nice, answered every question we had and gave us great tips and explanations of activities in the area. When we decided to spend the day at the farm we enjoyed their lovely home-made produce like pasta, honey and wine. They even backed a cake for my father’s birthday :-) We all enjoyed our family trip to Tuscany- mostly because of “La Fonte” farm and their hospitality . It truly is a taste of authentic Tuscany. We already recommended it to all our friends and hope to come back again in the future. Thanks Emanuela and Marco!
