Quiet and comfortable place for stay. The host were also very kind and helpful. The hostel is not too far from the station but it's a little bit hard to find, the (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Map didn't work well for me because it led me to the other side of the hotel, from which you can't access to it because there is a ditch... very close to the old train model, so maybe best to meet the host there......

I like the neighborhood it's serenity and comfortable. Walking from station only takes u about 10-15min. The location is between Kyoto and Osaka and it isn't in the center of any of these city which is good cuz traveler can explore how Japanese daily life like. The big shopping mall is in 万博紀念公園 and it's really nice! However the room doesn't have much light and its bit hard for packing up stuff.

It's simply a place for a sleep, nothing more. The dorm-styled room is very depressing, all the windows are stapled with thick canvas cloth or paneled with bamboo curtains, which completely block the natural light. And there's no ceiling light, only an Ikea Led spotlight clamped on each bed, it's really dark in the night, as well as during the day, it feels like a confined space. Besides, the amenities are minimum, many things listed in the listing were not available, such as towel, shampoo, kitchen, and breakfast.

Response from Hostel:
Dear Xiaojun, Thank you for your review. We are very sorry to hear that there were some issues with your stay. The hostel is, admittedly, a spartan place, particularly in the case of our dorm rooms. We keep the windows in the dormitory-style rooms covered because they are shared rooms and some guests sleep during the day, particularly those arriving to Japan after long, grueling journeys. We apologize if this caused you any inconvenience. Also, we offer all of our guests towels, shampoo, and coffee. All three items are available at the front desk and can be obtained from 9:00 AM~10:00. In addition, guests our permitted to use the Hostel kitchen throughout the day. It is located in the Hostel free space. When a guest requests breakfast, we prepare and serve it for them in the lounge area in the free space. We apologize for failing to communicate the above information to you. As you no doubt realized, our English is not the best. We do, however, have a map to the free space and a description of our amenities posted at the check-in counter. We are sorry if we failed to make that known to you. In any case, we will do our best to address the issues that you raised and work to improve our level of service. Thank you! The Staff at Bell

My trip to Kyoto/Osaka had many unfortunate surprises for me, but that did not veil Nobu-san's kindness and hospitality. The room I stayed in-- the women's dormitory-- had all the basics and came at a good price. My only quip is that the hostel is further from Minami-Ibaraki Station that I expected. Overall, though, I would highly recommend staying at Hostel Bell~
