Riad Mounia is exceptionally wonderful. Here's why: it's the right amount of secluded (2 minute walk from a street with plenty of shops that feeds (on the left) to an easy taxi rendezvous, or (on the right) to Jemaa el-Fna and Souk Semmarine and tons of other great restaurants and things. We had plenty of safe late-night walks (11pm to 1am) on our way back. The host (Alain) was always available to meet us - and even went out of his way to make sure he would be there when we got back. He personally greets everyone who enters which made us feel very safe (making it the only place we were willing to leave behind several thousand dollars of camera equipment in all of Morocco). Alain also helped us arrange a transfer from our previous Riad (Riad Zahir - do not recommend). We even booked a last minute extra night (when our previous Riad was disappointing) and Alain accommodated the change in our arrangements smoothly. He prepared a lovely breakfast for us. It is a wonderfully quiet and tranquil Riad - featured in a book for its gorgeous garden. There is an 80 year ols pet turtle named Caroline. Also, did I mention we were the only guests? I normally don't write long reviews but we really can't recommend this place enough. Oh, and Alain arranged a drop off at the airport and a day long driver for our trip to the Atlas Mountains - everything was very smooth.
